The old stereo had a separate CD player and we won't be using that [ripping it out tomorrow] and I was sure that the actual new unit wouldn't need those leads.

The ashtray went years ago. I've just heard back from the previous owner so off to furtle and see what damage I can do.

The red and white RCA cables disappeared when I unplugged them i I have all the others and I can't see why I need RCD cables in the first place. So I just want to know where they would flip to when unplugged and whether it is worth ripping the dash out to find them I can't remember ever having them ...

I did already.

Why have a forum if everyone in need of help is just told to go somewhere else?
