Re: Club Joker 1.6TD JX - Curious "electrified" fuel filter?

Thanks for the input here gentlemen.... makes sense since German domestic versions go a little OTT as far as winter add-ons are concerned. Guess I'll make a point of seeing if the relay energises one freezing morning.

Re: Leisure Battery saver device

A really good idea IMHO, thought of making one myself but got stuck when I worried about my Eberspacher's cooling down fanned phase..... like we've nodded off, the van's warm, the battery cuts out before the heater timer finishes it's hour. The Eberspacher could be wired in pre-cutout I suppose. Hop...

1.6TD Westy - Can only select gears when engine is off!

Just pulling away from home when I couldn't get 2nd gear, or any other gears for that matter. I'd put her into 1st while the preheat was on without trouble. With the engine running there's plenty enough clutch to engage/disengage a gear that's been selected before I turn the engine on but subsequent...

Re: Club Joker 1.6TD JX - Curious "electrified" fuel filter?

You're right of course! Its a temporary lash-up, and judging by the state of the old fuseholder, I tossed up between 10A & 20A in my toolbox and figured 10A will give me a positive indication while erring on the side of safety. I'm not sure any current actually passes through it. Any idea what t...

1.6TD JX - Half starts from cold, other half wakes up later

All of a sudden, seems like 2 cylinders don't want to contribute on my 1.6TD when cold. My JX has been a lovely reliable starter/runner since the Vege unit was fitted in Germany 5 years ago, starting immediately and cleanly from just one burst of glowplug preheat however cold it's been. I've checked...

Club Joker 1.6TD JX - Curious "electrified" fuel filter?

Please can anybody tell me what these 2 sets of terminals on my fuel filter housing might be for? Forum Pic.jpg Haynes doesn't cover T25 diesels and the orange JK T25 diesel manualette illustrates a filter without any wiring emerging at all. I thought it could a fuel cutoff feature perhaps remaining...

Re: Round headlights or square... But which is best...?

OOh defo round ones.... a lovely beaming happy face on a T25 anyday..... unless you prefer the poker snake-eyes or bespectacled look. There's a certain "old guy at a kids disco" thing going on with the squares too...... Nah!

Re: Windscreen Wipers

Hey Mick A friend of mine Just had this problem traced to battery earth strap no longer making unadulterated contact with the body. Lights would dim too when the wipers were on. If you suspect your wiper motor, you could check it using a spare battery (with an in-line fuse very close to the +ve term...

Fuse 5 (the "spare") - Can I employ it?

Has any brave soul figured out how to access the "spare" blade fuse in position 5? Background: I bought a Sat Nav from Ebay, which came with a large Cig Lighter SMPS power supply terminated with a micro USB plug (Type B) to power the thing. First I have no Cig Lighter socket, and second, ...
