Re: Gearbox Codes ??? & Will any T25 Box Fit?
Aaaaha... thanks for the info so far - found the code - it's an ABB which according to the Brick Yard is from a 44kw petrol van produced up to 7/1984. So having checked the chart the gear ratios are the same as a lot of other gearboxes. So, the question remains, would other gearboxes with similar ra...

Gearbox Codes ??? & Will any T25 Box Fit?
Hi, I have ongoing gearbox problems which although have eased off just now, will certainly be back soon !!! My van is a 1984 model and started life as a 1.9 petrol water cooled. At some point it's had a 1988 VW Passat 1.6td JX engine fitted and has also had a replacement 4 speed gearbox in the last ...

Re: Gear Selection Problems
Hi, I think I've worked out that the problem is happening because when the vehicle is travelling in 3rd gear the gear lever is "flopping" to the right and getting stuck in a notch it shouldn't be in. I've just ordered the gear lever repair kit from Brickwerks so am hoping that will help. M...

Re: 1.6td gear box problems.
Try Weeley Transmissions in Essex. Never used them myself but have passed their place on the way to Frinton On Sea and they have advertised recon T25 gearboxes in the past on Ebay.
Good luck!

Gear Selection Problems
Hi, I'm having gear selection problems - i've just checked the Wiki and can't find an answer so thought I'd ask you all. I've got a 1984 T25 with a 1.6td JX engine fitted. When starting and pulling away everything seems fine until I go to change from 3rd to 4th and it doesn't want to come out of 3rd...

Hi, We're going to take our newly MOT'd T25 for a tobacco and booze run to Adinkereke in Belgium next week. This is the first time we will have taken Kippin abroad and plan to stay overnight in Belgium before returning. Firstly any tips on the crossing? We've taken the car previously, do we need to ...

English Sea View Campsites
Hi, We love taking our T25 to coastal sites, but have yet to find many where we can camp with pitches looking out to sea. I found one at Durdle Door near Weymouth where they have camper van pitches looking directly out to sea and we intend to stay there soon. Can any members recommend some other sit...

Re: Coolant pipe leaks
....i've also seen that a couple of people are selling full length rubber hoses on ebay. Are these suitable for the job but easier to fit due to their flexibility?

Re: Coolant pipe leaks
Thanks for the quick reply! I guess it's likely that it's the 29 year old metal pipes that have rotted out then.... Any idea which type i'd be looking to order? i'm guessing it would be for the 1.9 petrol as these are the original pipes that are still fitted?

Hi, I have a 1984 T25 ,originally a 1.9 petrol which has had a 1.6 td engine fitted from a 1988 Passat at some point in the past. It's currently with a local mechanic who has replaced the clutch and is going to MOT it. He has found a coolant leak which he has said appears to be coming from behind th...
