Re: Full time camping
Decided to make my own thermal wrap for the bellows and place on the inside reflecting the heat back in, cut a hole / flap for the front window and make the whole thing removable if the wind gets right up! (50-60mph gusts are a bit of a pain) Where to get thermal stuff from, thats the question?

Re: Full time camping
It's evenings like this that makes it all worthwhile, sitting in the country, cold beer, reading, saturated in the evening sunlight, fantastic!

Wood Burner?
Has anyone ever converted their awning so as to be able to put a wood burner / stove in? I have seen people use them in bell tents and would be really toasty when the real bad weather arrives.

Re: Awning Recommendations
I have a Royal traveller 3 awning, had it for four years and has always served me very well. I have had it erected now continuously since the end of September in all weathers, be it heavy rain, ice etc and it has withstood up to 50mph+ gusts of wind so far, without temping fate but it is bloody good...

Re: Has anyone fitted blackout blinds in their van?
I had someone make me a set of curtains and sew the blackout liner in between, works really well but the only time I use them now is in conjunction with thermo mats if the temp drops below -0 degrees to help me stay warm!

Re: Thermo wrap
Been using the thermo window covers from JK now full time for nearly three months, very good and would not survive without them! Looks like the brickwerks thermo wrap is the way forward if it gets any colder, its just a shame they don't have a window in the front that works with the canvas, ...

Re: Normandy and D Day beaches...
Municipal site in Arromanches was very nice as is the town. Normandy on the whole is really lovely,Hornfleur and Pont l'eveque(home of the stinkiest cheese) are two of my faves. The D day sites, museums and cemeteries are very evocative. I can recommend the local cidre :D The drive from Calais is n...
