silvebullet, my pivot is only in use when I swing the carrier out, normally the carrier is sat on top of the bumper.

My steel angle bumper is welded to the existing bumper mounts which are bolt to chassis with the standard 4 bolts.

Been on my van for over 20 years, towed race cars, syncro's stuck vehicles.
