Pull the badge off and the rubber, clean everything up then put silicone around the holes on the flat bodywork. Push rubber backing onto silicone. i cant remember if there is fixings that go through the bodywork.

I pop rivited a 40mm Steel hinge on mine as the bendy plastic broke.

Are you using the cold start? Some motors get used to starting with it when cold.

Don't bother with a recon, get a new one. Bought mine from http://www.hamlinsengineering.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. They are based in my home town and gave good service.

It will run on over a certian temp.
It also spins over as you use the starter motor, to stop it siezing.
Put your hand on the pump and get someone else to start the van. You will feel it run at the same time the starter is turning over.

Is the pump off the JX engine?
