just fitted led headlight bulbs
Just thought I'd post, I've just fitted these bulbs from ebay 734010083356 on a square headlight westy. The headlights had become so dim they were just mot ok but were bordering on dangerous to drive with. I had renovated the earth crowns under the dash which had improved them slightly so the next s...

Re: aaz what sump gasket
Thanks
I'm going from a 1Y (which has a JX sump on it) to the AAZ so I'm hoping those bolts should work, if not I'll reuse the AAZ.

Re: aaz what sump gasket
Cheers for that. That's what I'd plumped for in the end. When you read the AAZ install threads on the forums there is alot of conflicting information out there about what to fit and what works. I know this engine install has been over shadowed by TDI's but its a shame there isn't a clearer step by s...

aaz what sump gasket
Hi All
Could anyone tell me the best sump gasket when fitting a JX sump to an AAZ, hopefully replacing my dead 1y at the weekend with an AAZ so any other words of wisdom would be gratefully received.
Cheers
Steve

Re: 2.1 dj blowing ignition module
Hi Guys Thanks for the responses. The batteries have not been on the wrong way so definitely not been shorted out. I can't see the HT causing problems as I checked them out when first diagnosing the failed module. I've used thermal paste but to be honest I can't see heat being an issue as the engine...

2.1 dj blowing ignition module
Hi All I'm having problems with failing ignition modules (the amplifier or TCI as they are called) on a 2.1 dj. I am now on my third failed unit, so am figuring something must be blowing them. Before I try and track down any feeds to it that appear to be wrong, I wondered if anyone else had experien...

Re: Auxilliary lights on a vindic?
Mine has rear flood lights, but connection is through in to the cab roof by the rear window. It a Swedish ex utilities pick-up so it looks like they were done from new.

Re: Cheap Syncro on the Bay....?
I bought my 16 doka blind on ebay, couldn't see it as I was in Germany. Went up to £2000 which I figured I'd get back if I broke it. Then spent another £2000 with a "specialist" to get an mot, could of been much cheaper if I had time to do the work myself. Since then I've done a good 20000...

Re: Who's is this?
Yes it used to have a kitchen I saw it at the all types last year. I think a guy from Chester owned it then, I remember reading a thread about when he got it and had some spray work done.

Re: glow plug relay problems
No that all seems original. The wiring to the ignition switch have all been chopped and remade by the previous owner (only had the camper since february). Probably foolishly I reconnected one of these when I was tidying wiring, thinking I had disconnected it whilst working. I have a feeling that thi...

Re: glow plug relay problems
Thanks Oldiebut goodie.
I think the problem is definitely constant supply to the 50 connection, just hope when I sort that the glow plug light returns to normal service; as it passes the test to check it works in isolation.
Thanks Steve

glow plug relay problems
Hi I'm having problems with my glow plug relay keeping the glow plugs on all the time with the ignition on, causing the relay to burn out. I think it's a problem on the 50 connection. Am I right in thinking this should only recieve a positive feed when the starter is turning? (mine is live all the t...

Re: 16" rear stub axle
Cheers for that Aiden. I do think re cutting the thread might be my quickest back on the road fix, this is the only problem with these 16" there are some parts that are difficult. Don't forget I've still got that door for you. I will get down your neck of the woods with it eventually, just been...

16" rear stub axle
Hi All I've just had a sweaty one with a rear wheel coming off  No harm done althought the wheel came off on a really steep hill so it was a bit of a nightmare getting it jacked up enough to refit everything, I ended up reversing down the hill just on the brake hub to get flat enough to get th...
