Thanks very much ghost123 thats what i thought the engine/ gearbox is bolted to the chassis so it shouldnt be a prob, ive just got another ignition control unit delivered so im going to put this on before my other coil comes through the post. Thanks very much for the help sarran, i was speaking to somebody who owns a bus company in our village and he thinks the engine/ gearbox isnt earthed properly would this be part of the problem as well. I tested the primary and secondary winding resistance with a multimeter. On the primary resistance i got a reading of 0ohms and on the secondary resistance i got a ready of 4.45ohms. I was told that there sould be a reading on both as in the manual so you can check the range. When i put on the new c...

Hi, its a 1.9dg and it has a hall sender. Does this type have a resister to bring the current down to 8v or is it a 12v, would the ignition control unit have anything to do with the problem as well as this has got me baffled. any help will be greatly appreciated. c.foster

would it be possible that the timing has jumped out as it just stopped and no spark, as i have power going into the dizzy but nothing coming out to the plugs or lack of power from the battery. The van has started to make me pull my hair out as ive just had a recon engine fitted.

Hi all, i've just been towed back home and the breakdown service thinks the coil is knackered. No it has not but they told me they had it running just before it was shipped. I am thinking of useing my old one of the other engine as it's in good condition.

Hi all, ive just recieved my recon 1.9dg watercooled engine and fitting it myself, a few people was telling me i might have to get it re-timed can anyone help me with this matter please it would be very helpful.

Thanks for the help very much appreciated, do you think it would have done anymore damage than the heads as the people who i brought it from ran it when it kept over heating, the engine sounds ok but leaking water when filled up. thanks again

Hi everyone im carl and new, ive just brought a 1985 t25 camper dirt cheap because i knew the engine had probs i took it to a garage and they said the cyl head knackered. i was thinking about doing up the engine but i think a recon or new one would give me better peace of mind in case of more damage...
