Re: anyone tell me history of my t25

If you look under your dash on the left hand side by the door you might find the Mcodes. Try this site
http://www.vw-mplate.com/mcode.php" on ... urn false;

I put my Westies details in and got all the info that VW are charging 35 euros for. :D

Re: lhd exhaust sytem with catalytic converter

My 1.9dg had a cat until I replaced the whole system last year with a stainless one. I noticed the difference in power immediately. The cat certainly must restrict the flow of exhaust gasses and drop at least a horse or two in power. :)

Re: DG fuel Pump.

I had exactly the same issue with GSF's fuel pump and finally got one from Germany through E-bay a couple of weeks back. Take a look at item # 220394867799, the postage was expensive but the total after conversion from Euros came to £42.48. The outlets are in the correct place and although I cannot ...

I have used a 14-17 foot breathable caravan cover for the last couple of winters which I got from fleabay for about £100. At the beginning of the year I found that most of the straps had broken away from the fabric and there were various tears and holes in it. I have just sent for one from - [url]=h...

Re: Exhaust

Just fitted an LAPerformance exhaust to a 2.1 petrol. Fit is really good and neat. They sent a smaller filter with it and no problem with the cooler fitted. It`s a shame they don`t supply a fitting kit with it. You get 1 gasket. It`s got a nice sound to it as well. I also bought an LAPerformance ex...

You should be able to just change the gas bottle and regulator with no other changes to jets etc required.

I have an 89 Westy that was imported a year ago and that did not have a fog light switch fitted. It had to have an external foglight and switch fitted to get it through its first MOT here.

Hi

I would put money on it being dirt in the carb jets, especially as you say the guage was on red and you put fuel in just before your oil change. Try taking the top off the carb and use a bit of tubing to blow down the three jets you will see there.

Ok, I take it from the lack of response that I will probably be the trail blazer for these carbs on this forum. :o

Hope to have them fitted and tuned by the great LP himself this Friday on my way to the Orkneys, so will report back in a couple of weeks time and let you know how they perform .

Solex Bisa twin carbs

I will shortly be getting a pair of Laurie Pettit's Solex Bisa carbs fitted to my 1.9 wbx Westfalia hightop, to replace my knackered Pierberg 2E4. I am expecting an improvement in performance and possibly economy, has anyone on here already fitted a pair and if so how do they compare to the original...

I had the same problem last week. got a replacement belt and found that the original, although it looked ok, had worn on its edges so that it was no longer 10mm wide but more like 8mm and consequently when tensioned up was sitting in the bottom of the pulley flanges.

All the dials you say are not working go through the red plug on the back of the fuse panel.

Have you checked all the plugs on the back of the fuse box?

I use a 14-17 foot caravan cover for my Westy high top, got from fleabay for £73.99 last October. A bit baggy but does the job well and has survived the snow and gales. :D

Not too sure but I think there may be a difference in the size of the inlet or exhaust valves between the DF and DG.
