This sounds like something I'd like to find and check - can you give me an idea of how to get to this strainer please? I have an oil problem in my engine and I'd love it to be this. I have a 1.6 deisel engine on an 86 van. Thanks

Thanks guys for your replies. I'll try filling the filter at the weekend and see if it helps recover the engine.

I think my oil pump is knackered on my 1.6Turbo diesel engine. The buzzer of doom came on last Friday so we didnt go away in the van. Just for the record I am back up and running, new sensor has fixed the leak and I have no more air in my system - thanks Kev and Ian for your posts - off camping again tonight

cheers, I wondered if it was a seal or something, although I cant seem to undo the sensor nut. Are you suggesting bleeding the system because like Ian you think there is air in the system or are you suggesting I need to do this to after replacing the sensor?

Hi Kevtherev, You mentioned that your coolant was leaking from the coolant sensor - I think I have the same problem, when I rev the engine up, the coolant level drops down in the main tank, when I release the accelerator cable, the coolant comes up again, but where the sensor is mounted, i get a lea...
