Re: does oil strainer have to be so weak?

This sounds like something I'd like to find and check - can you give me an idea of how to get to this strainer please? I have an oil problem in my engine and I'd love it to be this. I have a 1.6 deisel engine on an 86 van. Thanks

Thanks guys for your replies. I'll try filling the filter at the weekend and see if it helps recover the engine.

Re: van sups coolant.. no trace of it

cheers, I wondered if it was a seal or something, although I cant seem to undo the sensor nut. Are you suggesting bleeding the system because like Ian you think there is air in the system or are you suggesting I need to do this to after replacing the sensor?
Cheers

Re: van sups coolant.. no trace of it

Hi Kevtherev, You mentioned that your coolant was leaking from the coolant sensor - I think I have the same problem, when I rev the engine up, the coolant level drops down in the main tank, when I release the accelerator cable, the coolant comes up again, but where the sensor is mounted, i get a lea...
