Re: Leisure or starter battery

Thanks phinw.
I haven't measured anything yet but I am placing the battery under the rear seats, not the passenger seat. Think i have more room but still need to keep it relatively low.

Thanks

Re: Leisure or starter battery

Thanks for the reply.
It will be hooked up to the starter battery so in theory should never discharge fully.
I am fitting it under the rear seats so plenty of room.
Will have a look at the battery you recommend.
Thanks

Re: 12/240v cool box recommendation

We have a 3 way Dometic Combicool RC 1700. Boought 8 years ago and still works very well.
Will go 30 degrees below ambient IIRC.

Fantastic bit of kit. Cold beers on a campsite = happy me!!

Leisure or starter battery

Need to add an extra battery to supply power to my newly repaired/serviced Webasto (thanks Oldiebut Goodie) Do i relay need a leisure battery or will a good quality starter battery suffice? Going to add a Durite relay and wiring from main battery. Leisure batteries do seem a bit pricey. Many thanks ...

Replacing alternator belt

Ok so i need to replace the alternator belt as its a bit loose and no more adjustment. I have a JX with double crank pulley so first have to remove the first belt. Am i right in thinking that i just need to remove/loosen the 4 bolts holding the pulley to crankshaft? There is not loosening adjuster c...

Not sure which version i bought off you. Think a 12v ??

Thanks

Re: Airtop 2000 blows fuses

HI OBG, Thanks for the reply. I have just wired the Airtop direct to the battery with the inline fuse and it now starts slowly then stops. It can start agin but again turns slowly then stops? There is an MO showing in the top left of the display but no error code. I bought this item from yourself an...

Airtop 2000 blows fuses

Afternoon, Hope someone can help. My Airtop 2000 diesel version has now decide to blow fuses. Not the main 25amp near the black control box but my 15 amp fuse near the leisure battery. All working fine for the last few years with no problems. I suspect that there maybe a fault within the unit itself...

Maybe your gas inside the tubes have crystalised?
Remove the fridge and turn upside down for 24 hours, you will be surprised the difference it makes

Re: Dometic combicool rc 1700

I too have the above fridge, brilliant piece of kit. When I use the fridge on gas, it is always in the connecting part of the awning to camper so plenty of ventilation. I don't think I would use it inside the van although in this weather I assume you would have all the windows open so vented enough?...

Re: HEATER FAN REPLACEMENT.

Hi Mick, I have just performed the very same operation on my Westy. Yes dash out job I'm afraid. If you want to save yourself a lot of time, get yourself a second hand blower motor casing and prepare this beforehand. It took about 3 hours to split the case and replace all foam and rewire for a PDM c...

Smoking JX- MOT failure

Morning, Thought I would share a little bit of info regarding my recent trip to get Dotty MOT'd. I know this has been mentioned before about smoking issues but mine was solved relatively easily. Dotty has been using oil and smoking for a while now and failed miserable on the emissions. Spoke to my m...
