Re: Stained Devon roof vinyl
Yep , mine was just the same Nathan! Had the handle 'powder coated' and that resolved it. So glad to be able to help solve the problem! it felt quite like magic seeing the stain gradually disappear by doing nothing after trying so hard to remove it! Don't think the it can be the tubing causing the p...

Re: Stained Devon roof vinyl
Hi , I had the same problem. what I discovered is that the stain fades significantly in sunlight . I found it disappeared almost completely over a week or so when left open and in sunlight. It then reappeared when the roof was left closed for weeks/months. It is a sort of iron mould I think and I di...

Re: Fix seal around engine hatch
Hi , on Brickwerks website they supply the seals and note they should be stuck down with contact adhesive, so that sounds like the way to go ..

Re: Photo of my Aircooled engine ( +now van) - comments valued!
:) Hello and thanks again. Yes hydraulic clutch. I will contact Andrew at Campershack and see what he says. The van is running well despite the identified issues, but the more I read about what can go wrong the more I realise how out of my depth is am! I had a baptism of fire when I first got the va...

Re: Photo of my Aircooled engine - comments valued!
Thanks to both of you ( said through slightly gritted teeth :) ). I did anticipate that I might hear things I didn't want to ! Would these be the spark plug leads I need? ( currently out of stock) HT Lead Set - T3 / 2.0l Aircooled / Brickwerks I have to hold my hands up about the purchase of the pan...

https://i.imgur.com/Nrd0N6C.jpg Hello - I thought I would try out the simplied new system for posting photos. I know when other folk have posted photos of their engines there have often been things spotted which are not as they should be , so am interested to see if there are obvious things I shoul...

Re: Side Elevating Devon Pop Top Roof Rack?
Hi , you will have seen the van now, if all went according to plan, but just to say that my Devon has fittings for roof bars that came with the van, but as I knew I wouldn't them I passed them on to a new home a long time back, so have no experience of using them.

Re: T25 1980 devon Table and wardrobe door sizes?
I have a 1981 Devon but not to hand at the moment, expect someone else will be able to give you this information else I can give you the details in a couple of weeks. Where did you manage to find the brown melamine?! I'm trying to keep my van pretty original, but would be interested in renewing the ...

Re: Resealing fibreglass roof
Sounds interesting. Be good to hear whether they feel it's suitable or not. To date I've just sealed mine with a wax coating which makes it easier to keep clean , but it's a good age now and may benefit from more protection! Julia

Re: Resealing fibreglass roof
Hi there, check our Dubworth's entry on 2 December 2019 entitled Winterising - he recommends a fibreglass sealant called Finish Kare 1000 p for the roof.

Re: Wandering rear seat cushions Devon Conversion
Interesting to read of the original fixing arrangement. My seat boards are covered in the 'carpeting' used in other parts of the interior and I find my cushions (which I've recovered) don't really move around but I like the idea of the envelope pockets and the poppers. I wonder if these 'fittings' m...

Hi Wes,
Great that you're really pleased with the work on your van.
Can you tell me whereabouts the guy is based who did the work?
Cheers,
Julia

Re: Sudden loss of power 2lt cu Aircooled.
Hi there,
I had a similar problem in my Aircooled van a while back and just to reiterate Tobydog's suggestion, cleaning the fuel filter and crap out of the carbs did the trick.
Good luck.
Julia
