Re: 2.1 petrol MV Cat rattling

Martin,

I have a full stainless system arriving shortly and therefore will have the CAT available from that system. However, it may be a couple of weeks or so before it will be available but I'll keep you posted if your interested.

Cheers

Fuse Box Problem....I think

I have an '89 Westy, late fusebox. Since aquireing the vehicle over two years ago, I noticed that there was a fuse in the 'spare' pos 5 with a wire held by said fuse and connecting to fuse 12 windscreen wipers. Everything seemed to work so I didnt bother until this afternoon........ It appears that ...

I used Stainless fittings on mine they are the correct thread sizes. I also tried the brass ones but thread was too fine.

Sourced them from BES fittings on t'internet.

I had the same issue, no underslung tank but a campingaz bottle connected to the valve manifold inside the cupboard. I sourced an underslung tank and had problems with the fittings - none of the brass fittings worked 'cos thread pitch was different. I finally sourced some stainless fittings of the s...

Alternatively, you could get the alternative lead set for the Fluke which are a fused lead set (GS38 compliant). Thes have an easily replacable fuse in each lead (similar dimensions to those found in a standard 13amp plug). They are a straight replacement and practically identical and there's no cho...

Thanks all, :)

Will have to try and get another with the lock guts still in and key it re-keyed by Mr Baxter.

(Just baffled as to how the guts have been removed in the one I have :? )

Cheers, Westy.Club.Joker I have got the CL type barrel with the different rear end parts, so I need to know how, if it is possible to remove the 'key' part of the non-CL barrel section and insert into the CL barrel section. As for the slider mechanism I got the CL mechanism, with said small lever fo...

Hi Shepster,

This link to the Joker manual gives details of the knobs and levers etc..

http://www.80-90.co.uk/techhelp/JokerManual.doc

and yes if its an original it will probably need an adapter - Steve at Gasure does them (you'll probably need two to get enough stand-off from the original fitting)

Just passed the MOT but ..............

GREAT It Passed..but I've had advisory on the MOT to:

A) Have an illuminating fog light switch?

b) Possibly replace the rear brake pipes from the 'T' piece to the bulk head where it meets the flexible pipe?

Are these things 'normal' replys from an MOT??

Any comments welcome

Cheers Nick

Hi, the valves inside the van need to be bottom one vertical(in line with the pipe), then top one horizontal for cooker and middle one horizontal for fridge.

There is an English manual via this http://www.80-90.co.uk/techhelp/JokerManual.doc

Hope this helps :D

Get it done, it vastly improves the handling and road holding. If you use a good kit, not the JK one, and have the bumpstops removed then the hard ride is not evident. My pop top Westy is lowered 45mm with an AVO kit and it rides smooth as a babys bum 8) I have to agree with Owlets, I've got the sa...
