Re: Relay issue on Radiator Fan High Speed.

And... why is a relay being used there?

It has the feed from the switch, and earth wire and the supply to the fan. What is happening in the relay? why cant I just connect the feed and the supply?

Re: Relay issue on Radiator Fan High Speed.

Does anyone know what relay I need for the Radiator fan?

my high speed wasn't working and have traced this back to the fact that the relay is missing!!!!

Re: Locking wheel nut help

That looks a tricky one but search for a locking wheel nut remover and see what you can get. You might be able to screw a reverse thread remover into that central hole and spin it out. I've heard people say you can weld a new bolt onto the top but I guess that would cosmetically damage your wheel. P...

Re: Window tinting, advice, comments?

I did mine myself because I am a cheapskate! To be fair, next time I will get it done professionally. If you are going to do it yourself your REALLY need to get the window very clean and smooth and make sure there is no dust about as each speck of dust will cause a bubble. Yes you can get some out w...

Re: 1984 1.9 petrol won't start! Help please!

It could be a weak spark. Mine was sparking yellow. Connected up with jump leads to another car and it started. After a week you could (but shouldn't) have a low battery if it is in poor health.

Either put the battery on charge or try jump starting.

Re: No Main beam/ flash

Try a squirt of electrical contact cleaner in the switch, might just be a build up of gunk in there.

Re: No compression in both nearside cylinders

Surprised you need a new engine!

I would suggest getting a compression tester and taking a look yourself.

If it is both, perhaps the head is leaking ???

Spark plug analysis

Take a look at these 4. Plug 1 is very oily but the other three are looking good (colourwise) Plug 2 took some removing and it looks like the thread is damaged at the end. i hope it has not damaged my head when I come to put a new one in. https://picasaweb.google.com/109994313948023965950/ProfilePho...

I want to make a strobe light...

I'm after one of these: http://skyflar.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=50 But that seems a lot of money for something which is quite basic to make. Trouble is I don't know how to! I'm guessing it is made of 5 x 10w LED's I'd like to power it from a small battery eg a 9v battery Wh...

Spark Plug terminal nuts

This isn't VW specific but I am hoping someone intelligent can explain, I have a two stroke engine which is fitted with a Spark Plug Cap that fits the thread on a spark plug. being a small engine there seems to be a breakdown of the metal where the cap fits over time and when it gets too loose I rep...

Flooding Pierburg Carb

The good news is that I rarely have to use fools gold as I run on LPG but.... Engine 1.9DG Carb Peirburg 2E I had a little issue with crap in the petrol tank which now appears cleared. The hoses are also cleared. The fuel pump is putting out a very healthy flow of petrol. Can it be too much? When I ...

Pierburg 2E splitting

before I force anything.... So the short story is that I had crap in my fuel tank. I seem to have cleared this, new filter and cleaned the secondary cone filter in the carb. On petrol it is visibly flooding the top of the carb with petrol until the engine litterally drowns and cuts out. My assumptio...
