rear door lock hassle
Hi to all
On my late 87 Multivan, the rear door unlocks OK, but when you push the button in to 'pop' it, nothing happens. Any clues on how to tackle this?

Re: Hassle getting Tank Back on
Thanks for the advice, it's all done now, the tricky bit for me was working out how to access the various holes in the top of the tank once it was up there. In the end I used longer breather pipes and cut them to length once it was up. A trolley jack on the tank supports helped. You CAN get your han...

Hassle getting Tank Back on
OK, so i was lucky in that some previous owner had bought her a nice new tank (This is my 81 Panel Van) but getting it back on seems to be tricky. My difficulties stem from trying to get the breather pipe back into it's mounting bracket on the van floor. If you route it over the main heat pipe to th...

Re: So exactly what engine do I have in here?
Thanks again guys, my one was originally supplied to the USA in late 87, so I guess it's probably an MV? No cat on it though, but it coukd have lost that in later life. I guess that the way to tell is that if it is Digifant it is an MV, Digijet it is a DJ? So how do I tell these apart? It looks just...

Re: So exactly what engine do I have in here?
@ Ian Hulley thanks for the advice my friend! @ toomanytoys , ditto, and thanks for the explanation. The 'crank clearancing thimg' was what made me a little suspiscious in the first place, based on 30 years of tinkering with motorcycles! Is there a major difference between the MV/DJ/SS engine codes?...

So exactly what engine do I have in here?
So I have just bought an 87 Vanagon GL Multivan to add to my 81 Aircooled panel van. It runs pretty well, has minimal rust as it's a US import via Lithuania (still on LT plates). Now the chap I bought it from (a Lebanese dentist with a Lithuanian wife living near Aberystwyth - what a wonderfully cos...
