Re: Banging noise under load, what can I do??
ok,after investigation regarding packing out the CV boots, the only way I have found is to undo all the hex bolts on the CV joint, then separate the boot from the bearing. If you do both sides of the shaft you can twist them to check for excessive play. Pack and bolt up. P.S My van has just passed i...

Re: Banging noise under load, what can I do??
I'm thinking you could be right. I took the van on a 10 mile run yesterday to try and simulate the problem, and would you believe it ... nothing!! Drove like a dream. I'm not complaining because I dont have to fork out for a new engine or gearbox at the moment, but very strange. It only happened whe...

Re: Banging noise under load, what can I do??
No Ghost, not yet. We have a lot of rain too (Although I did contemplate it).
I will be on it hopefully tomorrow, and keep you posted.
I appreciate your help.
Tony.

Re: Banging noise under load, what can I do??
quick question,
If the gearbox is shot (and I'm beginning to lean that way after starting it up with no problems coming from the engine), can I replace with a 5 speed?

Re: Banging noise under load, what can I do??
Thanks guys, you make some interesting points. I thought the oil pressure would be a telling factor if it was the big end. I haven't had a chance to investigate yet, but will certainly take on board your points when hypothesising. Fingers crossed your right. x

Re: Banging noise under load, what can I do??
Thanks for your response. I changed the oil last year, less than 500 miles ago, and seems fine. What do you think it is?
Surely if it was the gearbox then the noise would have continued after I put my foot on the clutch??

Banging noise under load, what can I do??
Hi Guys, I recently took my van out for the first run after winter, and after starting in the morning a week into my holiday I noticed a tap tap tap noise. I thought at first it may have been the wheels etc, but after putting my foot on the clutch and it stopped. I was doing some 1st gear hills roun...

Re: Holdsworth vision replace front seats ??
Hey Twigs,
The seats are fine, I just want to pimp them up as the rest of my van looks crisp and modern (after all my work).
Thanks,
Tony.

Holdsworth vision replace front seats ??
Hi, I have a Holdsworth Vision conversion, and if anyone knows them they use the front seats to make the beds. My question is, does anyone know of any other seats I can use out of any other vehicle? I know about SAAB seats, but they don't fold flat so I can't use them for the beds. I've looked round...

Re: Intermitant buzzing noise and oil light.
Yes Em, I realize the "Buzzer of doom" panicked me to a point where I forgot that basic rule..Level is ok in cool engine. I think it's a good thing to get the pressure tested, to be sure. Another question I have is I bought a rotor arm and it doesn't look the same as my original??? (my old...

Re: Intermitant buzzing noise and oil light.
Ok...Just checked Wiki
I think the increase oil level may be a problem..?
Going to drop the oil and replace, any ideas on the best oil to use would be appreciated..

Intermitant buzzing noise and oil light.
Hi, I recently bought a T25 1986 with a recon engine, and whilst taking it for it's first trip, a buzzing noise from the dash accompanied by the oil light turning on startled me.... enough to pull in right away and check the oil, which was fine, maybe a little high, but not by much. The noise and li...
