I used a silverline kit that looked the same, apart from box colour for my Corrado.
I tried a few before hand, but when I fitted them, they fitted perfectly and have never leaked since. I was very pleased! I think practice is the key - a better took won't make up for lack of practice.

Re: Anyone fitted braided steel brake hoses??!!!
I have them fitted to mine. Along with new front brakes, they are absolutely spot on. I fitted them to my Corrado VR6 and the difference was very noticable. Probably harder to notice on the T25, but I'm quite happy with mine - good pedal feel, do not have to pres too hard to get a very quick stop an...

Re: Mechanics in Glasgow
I don't know any in Glasgow but I've used Peter at Wagonbuild a good few times now and would recommend him. I normally drive up and get the bus back to either Gourock or Buchanan Bus Station whih is fairly hassle free - just check the times.

Re: Darned 1.9d engine !!!
My KY died as a result of almost the exact same scenario happening. Engine continued to run eventually but had a strange knocking. Took us up to Tiree for a week, but was never right. Might have ran for a good while after but we ended up putting a 1Y in. If it ran dry of oil for more than a few seco...

Re: to zig or not to zig?
I had similar dilema but fortunately have a friend who worked it out with me. Leisure is connected to starter with a heavy duty voltage relay. Spur comes off to the zig>fuse box. Zig now switches on the 12v, but have another circuit on fuse box to power things llike the Eber where I don't want the p...

Re: Best cheapest way to insulate van
Remember with foil bubblewrap that it's useless when sandwiched. Best to put it onto the back of the panels before fitting, this will help keep the cold out whilst the wood panelling itself will help keep the warmth in. Or attach the foil directly to the panels and leave a void in the middle, this d...

Re: Recommendation of winter tyres
I'd avoid cheapies like 'Matador' like the plague. Go with something well known - Uniroyal, Continental etc. Matador, Linglong, Sunny, Nankang - all junk Maybe good on a dry day, but greasy/wet/slushy/snowy they are useless, winters included. I had a friend who put on cheap winters and he said they ...

Re: Kayak on the roof?
I got an inflatable kayak for my Christmas, been out in it a few times, pretty impressive! It gets flung in the back when travelling, just put it outside when parked up.

You say it's with you - have it been filled with diesel since you got it? Could be veg oil in their clogging up the lines? It'll be worse when colder as it thickens.

Big improvement with the Bilsteins? They are next on my list of 'upgrades' with standard springs.

Re: Eber D2 cutting out once up to temperature
Hmm, i have a D2 and it does the exact same thing...except I thought that was what it was supposed to do? Once mine is up to temperature and it's clear it's not losing heat too quickly, it goes to low and eventually switches off. ONce it's dropped back down it'll fire back up. If it's really cold ou...

Re: How to choose tyres?
My partner drives an old Audi S4 Quattro. Good safe handling? Never lift off over steers, usually pushes the nose and give you plenty notice? Sure. Except When we loaned it to a friend for a month or two. It needed new rears and they guy told us he would put Pirelli's on to match the front. Anyway, ...

Re: Diesel died...how much oil should sit in rocker?
Not yet harry. A friend has one but it's for petrol. The rocker pressure has subsided and it's back to normal on that front, it just sounds like an old transit. Strangely, the clacking is not there when it's cold, it takes about 45seconds for it to start and get louder. It's only just audible in the...

Re: Diesel died...how much oil should sit in rocker?
oil level is spot on. I've got her driving with a temporary 'catch tank'. Engine is fine, except there is a clacking noise. Judging by the frequency, it's from only one of the cylinders. I'm taking the tappets out tonight to check if one is seized or damaged. I'd have ordered new ones but doesn't se...
