Thanks Kev,
We have spoken to one or two garages including a VW one and they said try some restorers. We probably haven't spoken to the right garages, one man bands and smaller places are likely to be a better bet. Good idea about the MOT testing places, I will get my better half to try them!

Our new van (the purple people eater) needs rear seatbelts. We are completely cackhanded and as we don't want our children flying over our heads (with seatbelts firmly attatched) when we next need to do an emergency stop, we don't want to have a go ourselves. Does anybody know of any decent restorat...

Hi
Just bought a 1983 caravelle, a couple of the hinges are missing, any ideas where we could get new ones, I've only tried Justkampers.

Hi Thanks for the advice about Rust round the seals, the engine is the original. OUr budget is between £2500 and £3000, mainly because thats the range of the 6 vans we have seen so far. We would go a bit higher for the right van but we are loathe to spend too musch at the moment in case we don't lik...

Stupid computer was not working last night...it knows I hate it. In answer to Owletts first question. The van is a 1.6 turbo diesel with 150,000 on the clock. The inerior seems very good, it is a Bilbo conversion if that means anything to any body. It has three rear seatbelts - big bonus as we have ...

Thanks for your advice. The van we are looking at is not as bad as the one Fritz showed us, so maybe it is worth the 2 balloons and a goldfish !
We will keep looking but there does not seem to be much around at the moment, does it get better in the autumn ?
Thanks again

Thinking of buying a T25. It has loads of rust on the body in the usual places but the underneath seems sound. It's a D reg so we expect a bit of rust. The Diesel enginge Humms nicely. Any suggestions on whther we should walk away or whether its worth an offer to do up and make the Van the Scooby ma...
