Re: Electrical excitement - nearly a fire!
That's probably a fair comment but sadly the damage has already been done.

Re: Electrical excitement - nearly a fire!
Hmm, thanks. So I need to learn to solder. What about crimped bullet connectors, are they any good in this situation instead of Chock-block? I suppose not as it is still a dry joint. I was not aware I had any leaks, certainly no sign of moisture around the steering column and no idea how it would ge...

Electrical excitement - nearly a fire!
Coming home from a day trip, we noticed a 'warm' smell in the cab, then just as we pulled up at the house I saw whisps of smoke from the steering column! When I took the cover off, I found that one of the two choc-blocks powering the radio from the live feeds had melted. I had to cut it off to repla...

did the trick, got it off ebay for £23 I think!
Perfect, and some lovely photos, if only Notty was not a high-top with a roof 3 or 4 times the height of yours! That is why I want to sling them on the side instead of the top.

Re: Roof rack for t25
I am after something similar. I want to sling two kayaks (Nomad Pro-am Extra slalom and a plastic Saber) to the sides of the high-top. I was thinking of a rigid rack, attached to the gutters, that I could tie the boats to the side of. But would a 'soft' rack be of any use instead?

Re: Fuel consumption again.
No, not by a long way. I use the car or the train for the 23 mile commute to work and my wife normally walks or cycles the mile or so to her work so we don't need the van.

Re: Fuel consumption again.
Thanks for that. I have now done a proper search of the site and discovered, as I had thought, that it is a perennial subject! Last time I checked though, I thought people were reporting 20 to 30 mpg, not 15 to 20. Ah well, so there may not be much I can do except convert to LPG? She is actually wat...

Fuel consumption again.
Hi all, I know this is probably a perennial topic, but Notty's fuel consumption is abysmal and I'm after some help. If there is an FAQ entry that answers my questions, feel free to redirect me. We bought Notty around this time last year and I soon realised I was getting around 16 to the gallon. We l...

Re: Adding extra 240v socket
A radial is fine. Just come off of an existing socket just so long as the fuse is rated to protect the cable. Make sure you route the cable properly though as in, no sharp holes, away from gas pipes etc you shpuld really have an rcd fitted though at the very least which sounds like you have not and...

Adding extra 240v socket
Notty Noo has electric hookup through a very basic fuse box type affair in the cupboard with 2 circuit breakers, each supplying 1 3-pin socket. I want to add a 3rd socket down by the fridge so I can plug that in. In the house, I would find an existing socket that has not had a spur taken off and tak...

Ok thanks, I'll try to remember to get one of them for next year. At least she has some protection now.

Re: Cover for a high-top
That's pretty much my view as well, I'll check out the link you posted though. I have gone over her with Auto Glym 'super resin polish' and hopefully next week I'll chuck some 'extra gloss protection' on her as well. Neither of those are in your list but are they any good? I used to use them on my M...

Cover for a high-top
Any ideas where I could get a cover for Notty? Various places do covers for T25s but I can't find anywhere that does a cover for a hightop.

Re: Gas pipe stopper?
Should only really be done by a qualified person, but if you want to do it yourself it will be an 8mm compression cap. Or if you want to cap it off at the isolation valve it will most likely be a 1/4" female cap Like this? http://www.amazon.co.uk/8mm-Compression-Stop-End-Cap/dp/B005HB34P0 Mayb...
