found problem - loose (read: totally unconnected) lead to new starter motor. Tempted to call the mechanic an "idiot", but then so am I for not checking it :oops: Clearly the lead must have been on for me to drive it home but the connector is a loose fit and it had jumped off. Difficult to ...

only 4 days since last started and there have been times where I've just stopped on the high st to run in for a loaf of bread and come back to find it wont start....but I'm getting the message on the whole earth connections thing

no, haven't investigated the ingnition switch..will look into that and thanks for the earthing tips.

My mechanic is struggling to get to the bottom of this.. Van has had an intermittent starting problem for a couple of months - turn the key, one audible click from the starter and then..nothing replacing the connection to the starter seemed to work for a bit jiggling the conection sometimes worked R...

filled in every kind of form I can find - was just checking back to see if anything had been processed.
Its not been - but I guess the guys allowed a holiday
