Leaky Syncro.
The coolant distributor on my Caravelle GL Syncro has gone beyond the regular top up stage and the supplier in the states is out of stock of both the plastic and stainless steel replacements. A bodge got me to Volksworld and back, but I must now replace it. Any ideas ? JJ.

Give us a week or two and we will have the food back on again ! So if you want to arrange a small meet or something similar get in contact...

Re: Intermittant ignition failure.
Well, Uncle Hugh turned up with his vast knowledge of ford transits and proceeded to go through everything I had already done with a meter and moaning about German electrics. Having changed everything and cleaned everything else it started, then stopped two minutes later. After a fair bit of head sc...

Re: Intermittant ignition failure.
I'm both happy and sad at the same time, because we found the fault on the electrics, Bert is up and running like a dream and I now have no excuse for not selling it. JJ.

Re: Intermittant ignition failure.
Yes but the hall sender is on the side of the dizzy and I took one off a running T25 to no avail. JJ.

Re: How do you value a Syncro?
When we contacted VW UK, 15 years ago. to ask how many Caravelle GL Syncros were imported, the answer came from Hanover. They said that only 11 were manifactured for export to the UK. As I've seen six of them and mine was the only C reg one, I have no Reason to disbelieve him, unless one of the thre...

Re: Intermittant ignition failure.
Well, once again I missed VanFest and by hook or by crook Bert the Syncro has avoided leaving home. I think all I can do now is put all the parts I changed over back on the correct vehicles and then try the Idle Stablisation Unit. If there is still no spark, then it's time to call in an auto electri...

Re: Intermittant ignition failure.
I've now run a cable from the battery to the live on the coil and it briefly started only to stop moments later and now won't start at all. JJ.

Re: Intermittant ignition failure.
Well I gave that a go with a spare ignition barrel which I had already tested on another bus but still nothing changed. Bit that's one more thing off the list. Thanks, JJ.

Intermittant ignition failure.
It seems once again my Caravelle GL Syncro is refusing to be sold with an intermittant ignition failure. I have taken the coil, leads, dizzy, dizzy cap and rotor fron my other bus which is running fine and it still will only start occationally and then cut out soon after. I also found a wire had fal...

Today I meet Putney at my pub near Alton in Hampshire. Apparently quite a few of you have noticed the odd VW T25 sitting in my carpark. Re: How do you value a Syncro?
I purchaced my Caravelle GL Syncro over 15 years ago, from a chap who didn't even know it was water cooled, for £3k and I swore blind I would never sell it. But early last year some one came to my pub and offered me £8k, which I turned down. He then told me he wanted mine because, even with its pane...
