Thanks for the reply. I'm all sorted now, found a supplier who does the complete set for my year.
Early ones were brown with orange, later ones were blue or burgundy with gold pinstripes.

Auto Sleeper decals/stripes
I'm getting replacement decals for my van to spruce it up and want to ensure I get the right period colours. It's a 1985 van, I think it should be burgundy for the auto sleeper wording? For the central stripe should it be brown, twin orange pinstripes top and bottom, white stripe through the centre?...

Re: Earth Strap
Yes it had starting difficulties. Thanks for the tip, I'll give them a good clean before reassembly.

Re: Earth Strap
Thanks ELVIS. From looking at it, the shape of the bends in it suggest it was originally under the lower starter motor securing nut. I'll put it back there.

Re: Earth Strap
Thanks for the info
I honestly can't see where it goes to. It looks as if it wasn't attached and it's only when I put the starter motor back on that I saw it. I've checked the strap which attaches to the gearbox and that's intact and quite new looking so I think maybe this is an additional one.

Re: Earth Strap
An additional question, should it go to the starter motor solenoid? Should there be an earth from the van body to the solenoid? Thanks.

Earth Strap
Hi all, I'm in the process of replacing my starter motor bush and I have this earth wire which I've found hanging. As per the pics, one end attached, where should the loose end attach?

Re: Tin top to Pop Top v High Top pros and Cons
High top gets my vote. I've had both.
Pros: High top's much warmer, loads of permanent storage space (over the cab is particularly handy), no leaky canvas, doesn't slam shut when you least expect it and I've never had a car park I can't get in to.
Cons: Can't carry my canoe!

Re: Odometer/trip issues
That's great information, thank you for taking the time to explain. This gives me a starting point to work from.
I'll report back when I've got the speedo out and assessed what's going on.

Odometer/trip issues
Hi all, looking for some help with a small problem. When I'm driving the van, the odometer and trip readouts don't move. Also the trip reset button doesn't work. There's also a quite loud repetitive click, which speeds up with the speed the van is travelling. The speedo works fine but the needle j...

Re: Fuel Expansion Tank
Hi all, cheers for the replies.
It was a proper, doubled the vans value, fill up.
I've taken it to a mechanic today who's going to drop the tank to see what's going on.

Fuel Expansion Tank
Hi all, I filled my van up a few days ago and noticed a leak coming from the near side expansion tank lines, near the top of the fuel tank. On investigation I discovered a loose pipe. Could someone have a quick look at these pictures and tell me if I'm on the right track? Cheers. https://i.imgur.c...
