Re: Rear Springs Replacement - Compression Tool
Is it possible the upper spring seat & 'top hat' is corroded and the top of the spring isn't locating centrally? I went to replace Vinnie's rear springs last year as the rear had dropped so assumed broken springs. Turned out the upper mount was rotten both side, so the springs (both intact!) h...

^wot jrt said, replacing the voltage regulator/brushes unit works wonders - did mine a few months ago and those missing volts suddenly returned.

Re: Looking to get new pop top canvas for westfalia need reviews
We got new canvas for our side opening Leisuredrive from proudtopop.co.uk Didn't fit it ourselves, Bailies car trimmers in Paisey, Glasgow did it for us.

Radius rod bushes - how long do yours last?
Early front suspension system. Replaced the outer bushes with BW sourced ones 2 years / 6000 miles ago. Inner bushes & steel spacer replaced before that with BW items. Outer bush on both sides now have splits - seems a bit premature? Steering alignment & geometry recently checked and ok, b...

Re: A4 audi seats..will they fit?
Hi. We've got a 2007 A4 convertible as the 'practical' car  to go with Vinnie. I can do some measuring to see how the seats look. First glance they might be low enough to fit under the steering wheel ok. I fitted Momo seats from an Alpha in Vinnie and had to fabricate new mounts as the r...

Having done that job myself, I agree - walk away, that's not structurally sound and not a simple job.

Re: 1.9dg starting problem
check the fuel pipe leading to the pump. if it splits/cracks there's no vacuum for the pump to pull fuel from the tank, it just sucks air. Vinnie had a few unexplained events of cutting out which I traced back to a tiny split in that pipe. Perhaps take the pipe off the pump and suck the end and s...

Nope, that's "Shrek's ears", the end of the vent pipe from the top of the vent tank. That's perfectly correct.

Re: WWYD? Roof removal.
Not a direct comparison so might not be 100% relevant to you, but Vinnie had his side-hinged Leisuredrive poptop removed 2 years ago to replace the canvas. Roof came off easy, went back on just the same. Didn't replace the seal around the edge of the poptop. With the roof open we can inspect 90% o...

Re: Early Cooling System - Help Please
Without looking at Vinnie I can't remember what the options are for attaching it, but running an extra earth cable from as close to the temp sensor housing back to nice shiny metal bodywork won't do any harm. When diagnosing this on the 323F I also ran a temporary wire that completely replaced the w...
