Hi.
My Van has occasional starting problems, Sometimes when you turn the key nothing. If you disconnect the Trigger/Exciter wire then put it back on, It fires up straight away.
Any ideas gratefully received. As you can imagine its a pain especially when you have stuff in the back.
Cheers.
James.

1z engine gearbox?
Hello,
Would a 1z engine out of a 95 Golf require a different gearbox ? I have a JX in at moment. Dont know code(yes i have looked, cant find one). Also is there much work involved? Its on Ebay, Comes with plug and play ecu. and manifold.

Re: oil in header tank.
Having had no oil loss/return to header tank, We think it is the Oil cooler. The question is now, Do we really need an Oil cooler? It runs perfectly well without. Is it a case of "its there so it must be needed". Or something else. I need to convinced of the merits of cooling oil with scol...

Re: oil in header tank.
I have just finished bypassing oil cooler by joining the two water pipes together. Flushed out the water system. So will now run for a bit and see if it returns (fingers Xd).

Re: Engine tapping.
It turned out to be a Bolt in the Manifold, Which for whatever reason only seemed to Tap/Rattle when Van was moving.
Thanks for all your help it really is appreciated. (Honest).

Re: Engine tapping.
Once upon a time, My little girl (who is 10 ) said to her mother (age irrelevant) "whats that tapping/knocking noise coming from the engine mummy"."I don't know said mummy we shall ask daddy when we get home". But daddy was clueless!, So he thought he'd ask the nice people on CLU...

Re: Engine tapping.
Thanks for your replies, The tappets were adjusted 6 months ago. It only seems to be happening when moving, No noise when idling or revved when sat on my drive.

Engine tapping.
Good afternoon,
My van has developed a very loud Tapping noise. Making it sound rather like an Aircooled rather than the 1.6td it is. I have looked on Wiki to no avail, So am hoping someone may have an idea.

Hello.
When fitting spacers to alloy wheels do you fit ones with the same size centre bore as the wheel you are fitting or would any do as long as its smaller ?
Thankyou.
