thanks Harry!

kinda reassuring, your reply. the wiki? yep. read it maybe four times today! still feel it's not in there somehow. I've driven a T25 1989 1.7d since 1996, this is my second. determined to crack this one. it's a new one to me. but still sure it's a front end problem, as does my mechanic.

Gearshift problem

Vehicle: 1989 T25 Transporter van Model: 1.7D, 5-speed box. Problem: My gearshifter keeps [increasingly so] getting jammed, when shifting for reverse. It jams before it engages reverse, and is a hell of a job to release [increasingly so]. I use the great Baz James as my mechanic, and he has advised ...

Help! Know someone who can look at our van in Selsey area?

On Saturday, a local mechanic pronounced our T25 panel van engine ready to die. It's a non standard engine, a 1.6D from a Jetta, originally the van had a 1.7D I just spoke to my VW mechanic back in Cornwall, and he's not ready to give up yet. We may well still need an engine, but need a couple more ...

[converted] Vehicle definition for ferry crossing...help!

Hi, haven't been around the forum for a while, but in need of help today...we have to get over to France for a housesit in November, and are trying to work out the ferry thing, never having taken our bus before. The problem: we have a T25 van, no side windows, fitted out inside by us with extendable...

thanks dave...any tips on a suitable feed for the dash lights...maybe the back of the heater controls...there is a feed there to the little vaguely glowy bulb, right? I was planning to change that bulb [and the one in the ciggy lighter surround] for a blue led to match my dash lights. If I do this, ...

alternative roof / head linings for a tin top...

I have a panel van that I'm converting. There is no headlinging in it whatsoever, not even in the cab. The roof has had a load of thick insulating foam glued to it, deep enough that it drops a mill or two below the metal framework of the roof. On my old van I had a cheap option of fur lining straigh...

replacing bolt on rear access flap...

I have a bolt missing on the rear access flap to the engine bay [the one where you top up oil and water]. I want to replace it, but can't get one off my other van to try. I've had a look at other options, but I have this feeling that there's another part that goes behind the metal panel [nut? clip?]...
