Thanks for the replies, your right it does work now but I wondered how the light would come on when blue wire disconnected from the alt. by the way where do I find the slit charge relay??

Fault was originally batt light on all the time, the faulty alternator was repaired, no problem!! However,noticed fault before connecting blue wire. I have scoured the forums and haven't found one quite like this! So when the blue wire is disconnected from the alternator I believe the Batt light on ...

Double waste tank
Hi Dont know if any one has heard of this but my 90 atlantic has double waste tanks (why?) interconnected under the vehicle with a pump (not working) in the first tank to feed to the second! Any ideas as to why this is fitted and if it is really necessary, could probably replace the submersible pump...

I have ordered a new thermostat and will flush the coolant. Sorry to be a bit ignorant but I am new to these things but where or what is the sandwich plate?

Thanks guys for the rapido response Yes my oil cooler is at the front, but it just didnt make sense it not getting hot when everything else was scorchio!! Anyway thanks and I like the idea of putting a switch in to put fan on when I wish. But I am sure the oil cooler should shoulder some of the work...

Hi Newbie here first post. I am now the proud owner of a 90 Atlantic high top 1.6TD (JX) and I guess like all new owners finding worries every day. But what seems the worst is on long hot journeys the engine is getting mighty hot, sometimes 3/4 on gauge and fan very rarely kicks in but does work. Wh...
