Re: Fan Blower three way switch..should I have one ?

Bumping this one back up, I've just read the linked page (thanks Footprint) and decided that it must be a good idea to add some insulation to my ducting but ... does anyone know where I can get hold of the suggested: "A 25’ box of 4" Inside Diameter R-4.3 or R-6 (if you can get it) insulat...

Re: jerry cans, how much is too much??

Reading this thread just made me think of a section in Tom Shepherd's (2006) Four-by-four driving **. When writing about loading and the need to restrict external "paraphernalia" from the vehicle in section 8.4 he writes: There are many operators, however, for whom a roof rack is essential...

Re: Headlamp Grill-pin clips/catches

B****r ...Would you believe it!!!

Thanks 1664, I'm sure a pack of those would have fitted easily in the box I received from BW yesterday.

Note to self: I must do my homework before I order anything!! :?

Headlamp Grill-pin clips/catches

Hi All
I've just upgraded Floss' night vision with a couple of H4 headlamps, but unfortunately the grill-pin clips [which secure into holes in the headlamp chassis] haven't survived the transition. Has anybody any idea about where I might find suitable replacements/alternatives?

Thnx
Hugh

Re: Thermostat nightmare

My thermostat has now arrived. I've dutifully dunked it into a pot of hot water and watched as it's popped erect [ ] and then collapsed exactly as anticipated. I have to say that my suspicion is that Tamson's 'ballooned' because the 'spud' and wire got trapped in the bracket somehow, thus fo...

Re: Thermostat nightmare

Tamson, if you make sure that you keep the batch number of your thermo , when mine arrives this afternoon I'll do the boiling water test on it. If mine fails in a similar fashion - and it's the same batch number - then you'll probably have a better case for compensation. If they were cheap I wouldn'...

Re: Thermostat nightmare

Oh great, did you follow these instructions? http://www.germansupply.com/xcart/customer/home.php?gspage=customer/main/tech/tstat/t1_tstat_in_t4.tpl The image shows the Dub 'replacement' opens at 65-70*C instead of 85-90*C, but the narrative states that this means that the flaps will just open a bit ...

Probably best to read Steve's comments on this thread:

Re: Tinware patterns

Do you mean the pushrod tube guards? Yes, they're the ones I believe, the 'under tins'. When I get this sorted it sounds like a 'pattern' would be a useful addition to the wiki, especially as so many vehicles seem to be operating without them (either in good condition or at all). I'll give it some ...

Tinware patterns

I've just been informed by my friendly mech that my CU is missing both its under-cylinder tin cowls. Having now done a bit of phoning around it appears that, once again, dear old Floss has ended up deficient in two parts that are now about as rare and hard to source as hen's teeth. :? This makes me ...
