Re: Busfest 2013 - SYNCRO TRAIL
No time for losers I guess... Loosers ? It's a win-win situation, at least for Syncros. What's wrong in a bit offroading ? The ones that lost out where us mere T4 and LT 4WD's, as the track was designed for T3's and too narrow to allow for us. I would have driven straight over the first pit with a ...

Re: Painting Mefro wheels
Yeah, what Max & caddy said also, as an ex-tyre fitter, the bit inside the tyre will usually be ok, but any extra paint will help protect against corrosion in the long run, Mefros I would guess to be better than most as they are designed to be left 'as is' but steelies don't always the best coat...

Re: Upper ball joint removal
Are you replacing the ball joint with a new one or just putting it back together after? You may find that shortening the threads (with a grinder/hacksaw) will make the joint small enough to remove with your current splitter, but bear in mind that suspension hardware(nuts and fasteners) must be locke...

Re: Syncro Sunday.
Thanks for the heads up Simon, but I'm away this weekend
(and I've been too lazy to finish fitting my new engine anyway) Hopefully I'll be able to make it to the next one,
Cheers,
Dave

Re: 1 front stud
I can't say it's the proper way to do it, or that it'll work every time, but when I pulled the front drive flanges out of my 14" I managed to get it out without the bearing, so didn't have to replace that or the seal. I may just have been lucky though?

Re: Gentle lift
Syncro springs will lift the rear slightly, & I'm not sure how much, but don't think you'll get 40mm? the fronts are mounted differently so would lower a 2wd! best idea would be spring spacers imho, though taller tyres will help depending on engine power/expected mpg?

Re: Tyre size question...sorry!
Just a bit of info for the original question -- I don't think I should start on my house/garage/steptoes yard   I run 235/70x16 road tyres on my 14" SingleCab, and it doesn't catch at all, on Audi rims with 20+26mm spacers but... it's not quite standard! it has about a 40mm lift, MG r...

Re: Saw two Syncros today in the Lake district
Hi guys, yep, we had lunch up in Grizedale on monday :) if it was about that time? Mike Ghia, I have to thank for a load of advise (as well as my invite on said trip) had been with us sat/sun, the two syncros were out for their first trips greenlaning, the westy fresh into this country, mine because...
