Re: Keeping wing mirrors in place...

I finally put my hand in my pocket and got some Syncro Mirrors from brickwerks - what a difference - one of the best modifications for driving experience on long autobahn trips :D

Rag or a Sock round the pipe then duct tape?

Do you have any electrical cable or wire that could wrap either end instead of a cable tie?

Re: Help needed! Steering lock housing

I was surprised how much I had to tighten it to get it off - put an old bolt on the end of the spindle and then you won't risk damaging this with the puller :-)

I will go and have a look at getting the old bearings from the housing out for you tomorrow.

Re: Help needed! Steering lock housing

Because I bought another complete housing instead of changing the barrel I have a spare bearing in the old housing if you keep on pulling it and mess it up then il send it on up to you.

Re: Help needed! Steering lock housing

So a thump didn't work - any other suggestions?

Could the fact that the steering lock doesn't work have something to do with my troubles?!

Re: How much would you pay for.......

To get the entire interior done on my rusty westfalia cost me £1100 cash. I'm quite glad the misses talked me out of a Transformers Autobot symbol in the head rest and have a trusty VW log instead... http://i1299.photobucket.com/albums/ag80/ClubJoker/IMG-20120911-00210_zps6142cf62.jpg http://i1299....
