Re: Trying to contact Elite Engines
No-one that knocks Elite ever specify why they have had a problem. I have one of their rebuilds and its fine. They are not the most refined organisation, they are nuckle dragging mechanics and thats all they claim to be. If you send them an email you may get a reply some time, but if you call them t...

Engine bay remote starter switch
Today i had a problem with my ignition. I needed a helper to turn the key whilst i worked out what was wrong. I didn't have a helper so I made an engine bay starter switch. All the parts were off the shelf at my local Halfrauds. I thought this could be useful to others on here. IMG_2846small.JPG IMG...

Setting the mixture on LPG
I am setting up the C0% on my LPG.
I know it needs to be set at 2%
I am confused about the correct process. What RPM should I be checking it at.

Re: 2.0 cu timing woes
I have a 2L CU. I spent hours trying to get the ignition timing right. My solution in the end was to get a mate to drive it down the motorway whilst I adjusted the timing (laying on my belly with the engine cover off). Retard the distributor until it pinks then back it off just enough to stop pinkin...

Replacing the sliding door glass
Our van currently has a louvered window in the sliding door. The glass is not factory fitted as the van is a panel van conversion. I want to remove the louver and replace with plain glass. My question is... Why do people say their glass wont fit as it will only fit factory fitted vans ? I would have...

I think you will have to unbolt the runners complete with the seat to remove it.
Oh so the seat isn't going to fit on the swivel base then I guess !

I cant remove seat
I have just bought a swivel base for the passenger seat. So I need to get the existing seat off its runners. I have searched the forums, looked in the Haynes book and pushed, pulled the seat in both directions and I cant see how to slide it off the runners. There are no catches around the hinges and...

Re: Propex compact 1600 wont fire up
Its defiantly not a lack of voltage. I have 12.5 volts, I have tried with the engine running, on the vehicle battery, the leisure battery and the two connected with jumper leads.

Re: Propex compact 1600 wont fire up
Mine does this too exactly as you describe when on 12v. I contacted Propex whow were unable to help. However, it works perfectly when I use the hook up. I wondered if it is s'posed to work on 12v or is this some safety cut-out to prevent the gas flowing when the battery is flat. I too would be inte...
