Is it the original paint colour? There should be a paint code that any body shop can mix the colour to.

I had some spray work done and there was no code, so they actually scanned the existing paint (filler flap off a beetle) and mixed the paint from the formula the computer gave. It worked too :!:

Hopefully today a autospark / mechanic will be able to shed some light! Checked LT lead and this seems fine.

Hopefully it wont be too serious!

I think the battery is OK. Turning the key, the engine turns over, and tries to fire, but the van seems to shake slightly as the engine is turning. I wondered having thought about it if it could be the coil not sparking the plugs.?? (On the other hand this may be nonsense!) I will have a word with a...

Engine Woes! Help Needed!

Well I thought I would take the van for a spin at lunchtime. I store it at work, and the sun was shining :) On the way back i had back wind and was doing a respectable 60MPH with ease. A lorry came towards me and the force of the wind as he passed made the van slow slightly as per usual. The lorry p...

Thanks for all the information. It is not sounding like a quick fix as there seems a fair bit to do  I had thought about diesel but would ideally like a flat 4! However, never say never :D I asume engine mounts are different? I suspect that a w/c replacement will be the way in the end. Is there...

Thanks Emma,

Must admit it is tempting, but what about the heater and dash controls?

Would hate to think the heating would end up as per my beetle

Must be going soft.

Food for thought, i'll keep a look out for engines and if an Aircooled surfaces at the right price it may be tempting

water to air

OK this may be completly mad and not possible, or even just plain stupid thinking  However i'm going to ask all the same. Is is possible to swap a leaky watercooled 1.9DG engine with a 2Lt Aircooled one? Is this sheer madness? My feelings are there is less to go wrong :) But would it be slowe...

Gas Service on Cooker & 3 Way Fridge URGENTLY NEEDED!

Hi, Having recently decided to sell our panel van for a proper camper (i found a lovely Devon in beige and brown, 8) very retro and loads of history) I spent one afternoon testing the hob and grill on our drive. After a lovely cup of tea i then turned my attentions to testing the fridge on gas. I kn...

Made it to Cornwall.... but!

We had a great drive down to Cornwall in our 'new' panel van last week. However the van seems to keep 'blowing' voltage regulators on the rear of the fuel and temp gauge. It made it to Cornwall with the gauges working and the temp. was great. However 2 days into our holiday and the 2nd regulat...
