Re: VW 1.9 tdi engine (110 bhp - PD I think)
Piston and valve coming together sort of noise. Quite mechanical. Although I really cannot believe it is as its going very well still. I have tried starting and stopping it again a number of times and nothing now. Baffled.

VW 1.9 tdi engine (110 bhp - PD I think)
Not T25 related but. I have a seat Toledo (51 plate) with a 1.9 tdi engine fitted. Its been a proper pain in the a*** but for the past year its behaved itself. This evening however after parking it for a few mins, I restarted it and it knocked and didn't fire up. I tried again and all was well. I dr...

Yes there is at the peddle end. The end of the cable is pinched by a bolt. You need to get underneath and feel around above the chassis leg.

Re: Very hot front wheel bearings
I take it that there are no noises coming from the wheels, scrubbing ticking or knocking? He jacked the front end up and spun the wheels to check they are free? No binding or dragging? He wobbled the wheels to check there was the tinniest amount of play? Is the grease just the excess being pushed ou...

Re: Diesel--desperate help needed please !
The timing mark on my 1.6na flywheel is on the Clutch Pressure Plate not the flywheel. I turned the engine over and over searching for a mark until I found a photo on here (will search) It’s a blooming great big notch you cannot miss it once you know where to look. Your bottom pulley has not moved h...

Re: I'm an idiot.
I didnt use the baffled sump gasket. Dont forget the spigot bearing (I see you have one) you need to use the oil pimp pick up from your old engine unless that came with your new pump, but that will be obvious once you see it. I used my old 1.6 manifolds without modification. Mine goes very well inde...

Gear change and dashboard woo’es.
When I select first gear my van can sometimes jump out. I now tend to hold the gear stick forward as I let the clutch out so it jumps into gear rather than out of gear. The gear stick feels nice and positive with no real slop. Is it a lubrication issue or should I be looking to buy a new part? It’s ...

Re: Source for pulley shims
Fill in your details and then somebody locally might be able to help. I have a stack of them under my drivers seat. Take a look under your seat its a popular place to store spare belts etc. I am in Gloucester if you want o come and collect mine as I have upgraded to the newer style belts system.
