Hi Everyone,
Can anyone recommend a mobile habitation service? I want to get my gas and fridge serviced.
Thanks,
Tim.

Clean up after cooked leisure battery
Hi Guys, My leisure battery recently overheated and the smell was terrible. The van still smells and I've noticed the worst of it emanates from the leisure battery well (under and behind the front passenger seat). The carpet at the bottom of it is wet, presumably discharge from the battery? Any sug...

Re: struggling to find a leisure battery that fits behind passenger seat
Alpha don’t do leisure batteries that fit under the seat , they do rebadged starter batteries ...... and not cheap either to be a leisure battery there must be no CCA ( cold cranking amps) rating . https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/171795071390 although this is only 75ah it’s a true leisure battery and w...

Re: struggling to find a leisure battery that fits behind passenger seat
Cheers Rob, found one on there:
https://www.alpha-batteries.co.uk/80-ah ... e-battery/
Not sure how good it is. Only 70AH, but it's the only one I've been able to find that will fit.

struggling to find a leisure battery that fits behind passenger seat
Hi Guys, Does anyone know where I can get a leisure battery that fits in the leisure battery compartment. The dimensions are 280L X 180H X175W. There's never been a great amount of choice due to the dimensions when I've bought in the past, but I can't find any this time. If anyone knows a site where...

Re: Leisure battery giving off an awful smell
I've read somewhere on here that you can rig up a relatively cheap meter from Maplin or suchlike that disconnects the battery when it falls below a certain voltage to avoid draining it. Is there something that works the same way if you're in danger of overcooking it, i.e. cuts it off once it's charg...

Re: Leisure battery giving off an awful smell
It is a zig. And as far as I know the fridge only works off 12v when the van is driving.
If I get a new battery, how can I make sure it's well charged but not over charged?
I'm having a habitation service done soon, so I can get them to check all the wiring if ok.
Cheers,
Tim

Leisure battery giving off an awful smell
Hi All, I had posted previously about a possible leak from my LPG system, before I finally tracked the smell down to the leisure battery. I was surprised to find it really does smell like gas/rotten eggs. The battery was warm too. I've read that is a sign the battery is knackered and the smell is fr...

Re: Safely disconnect gasit lpg tank [solved - smell coming from leisure battery]
Thanks Mocki, I didn't notice your reply till I had made an update. Turns out the smell was coming from the leisure battery! <facepalm>. After ventilating the van well I had done a check with soapy water on all the joints I could get to and found nothing. Then I noticed the leisure battery. Anyway, ...

Safely disconnect gasit lpg tank [solved - smell coming from leisure battery]
Update: Turns out it was the leisure battery!? I found it by chance. The battery is warm and giving off an awful smell. I had been trickle charging it through my 240 hookup at home. I disconnected it a few hours back when I had the whiff of gas and assumed it was the lpg. I left all the doors open t...

Re: Snapped SS exhaust pipe?
Thanks guys.
Would you buy that section or just get it welded? I bought this originally from Brickwerks. Unless they've changed their kit since then I think it's the intermediate pipe available here:

Cheers,
Tim.

Snapped SS exhaust pipe?
Hi Guys Anyone ever seen this before? It looks like part of my exhaust pipe has clean snapped? It's a stainless steel exhaust pipe. It's 6 years old but no sign of any rust. If I didn't know any different I'd say someone had cut through it with an angle grinder. It's such a clean cut. Very strange. ...

Re: Intercom to hear kids on back seat
Is it that your van is noisy? Just a little bit? I can just about hear my kids now, after spending loads of time on sound deadening. Campers which were originally panel van Transporters often have minimal or no soundproofing, ex caravelles have a lot more. Loads of info on the forum, I think some o...

Intercom to hear kids on back seat
Hiya. Has anyone fitted some kind of intercom in their van so they can hear the kids on the back seat and vice versa?
Cheers,
Tim
