Re: Interior fan only working on speed 1
Well there is not so bad news and there could be bad news for you.... If the fan is only working on number three speed then bad news could be your blower unit is just about to give in and go kaput, mine did the same. If you are getting a lower speed, possibly and this could be happen on number three...

Re: Blower gone suddenly 1.6D
Well that was a strange one, received the new blower today from Germany 26e plus 13e post, not bad! Tested it when I pulled old one out and as it should, it worked. Not only that but so did the control switch on all three settings. So even though new switch controller still in post from China at thi...

Re: Blower gone suddenly 1.6D
Okay that makes sense. As for the fitting I have no issues making another hole in the dash for, if that is the easier route than disconnecting things from the board then refitting. I have opted for this one: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/20a-dc10-60v-pwm-hho-rc-universal-motor-speed-regulator-controller...

Re: Blower gone suddenly 1.6D
Thank you Covkid for taking the time and giving sound input/advice for me, much appreciated. I will no doubt be back to you regarding fitting that controller when I get it. Found a store here that has the blower unit for 56euro, not a bad price. It would though cost someone a small fortune if they g...

Re: Blower gone suddenly 1.6D
I stand corrected, fuse has been replaced with correct one. I read that due to the fan working only on full then I have to replace the resistor, any ideas on where from and what rating am I needing, I am out of my depth with resistors?

Re: Blower gone suddenly 1.6D
Temper temper ghost, like I stated it is only temp until I fix the unit, and as I write it is done. The blower unit is a must for de-misting, would be surprised an inspection would pass a vehicle without such measures? Anyhow I spent this morning first off wasting my time drilling a stupid hole in a...

Blower gone suddenly 1.6D
I checked out the wiki and read a few threads, thanks Covkid for some good info there. My symptoms were sudden, turned the engine on and the fan suddenly died????? Fuse blew, it is on a separate fuse link from wipers which confused me at first, as the wipers worked  I replaced the fuse with a...

Re: Offer of used engine 1.6D
Throttle cable linkage sorted, had slight oil leak from dipstick tube, hopefully that too is now sorted. I have a question on what to do regarding the exhaust? I am not sure whether to try and use old box and find a way to wrap the down pipe under and back but am afraid it may sit to low, or run the...

Just a quick update: Engine is in (finally) todays will hook up ancillaries fluids etc.. and hopefully by the end of play will post the results. Re: Offer of used engine
Whilst I am waiting the spigot bearing, I decided to dismantle the turbo from the old engine, and what a freakin mess it is in. Thick oil and soot throughout, am not even going to bother with it any further, just happy decided not to Frankenstein it to the donor engine. :D A worthy note to all, chec...
