Re: steering rack boot
that's correct brian - that was my plan. unfortunate you say it does not work. I guess I can unscrew the track rod then out of the ball joint at the wheel end - and the other end will just spin in the ball joint at the end of tha rack. So I don't need to remove that ball joint at the wheel end I thi...

Re: steering rack boot
Having loosened the lock nut, does anyone know whether it's possible to unscrew the steering/track rod itself, as it goes into the steering rack, - rather than remove the track rod end ball joint on the end of it? Steve

Re: Temperature of Front hubs
turned out the problem was the master cylinder was not releasing brake pressure sufficiently and keeping the pads on slightly. Bearing adjuctment was fine - mot guy said too loose in fact but I thought some wheel rock was necessary - Steve

Re: Temperature of Front hubs
new calipers, pads & well greased I think - hardly any braking on the test trip & discs cool to touch. So it seems like I need to re-visit bearing adjustment.

Temperature of Front hubs
I just replaced the front discs & hubs and am getting a bit of a squeak at times and they are both running hot to touch - about 50'C according to my infrared gadget. Can anyone tell me if that is normal? I set the bearing according to bentley. Steve

Hot start on 1.9D
I recently fitted a AAZ with JX pump. It start great, pretty much instantly, from cold and runs well. The Only problem is that it does not like a hot re-start! So what I've done is disconnect the glow plug temperature sensor - the result being that the glow plugs always come on no matter what the en...

Re: diesel leak from top of JX injector Pump
Can i simply remove that right hand nut, remove the plate/lever and replace the bush/seal underneath on the shaft ..? Or do I have to take the top of the pump off and replace the seal/bush working from the inside of the pump? If I remove that top nut, is there a problem with keeping the shaft in pla...

diesel leak from top of JX injector Pump
I had this pump 'reconditioned' last year - which means they changed seals and checked the pump on a stand. Anyway, it's taken me a year to get the pump on an engine and today I got it started. Problem is i've got quite a large diesel leak from the top of the pump - it appears to be coming from unde...

Re: Probably some use to some of you lot - JX turbo feed.
Can anyone tell me if the JX filter housing is the same as the AAZ is the same as the 1Y? I'm looking for the adapter piece that goes from the housing to the turbo oil feed pipe. I have an adapter that is M12x1.5 to M14x1.5 and I have a housing that needs a M10x1! Is there such a thing as a M10x1 to...

Re: Will AAZ fit with standard JX air box ?
Thanks - what is the 'turbo return hose' is that the oil return or an air pipe?
On the air box, I was concerned that the taller block would touch, or rattle against, the air cleaner. Steve

Will AAZ fit with standard JX air box ?
Given that the 1.9 block is a little taller than the 1.6, then
if I replace a JX with an AAZ, can I keep the JX
airbox/cannister in the same poisiton or does it
need to move?
Steve
