Re: uneven tyre wear loose wheels nuts.. any ideas?
I have jacket it up under the bottom wish bone and there is still the minimal 6 to 12 o'clock play and nil 3 to9. Does this mean it is just the tracking/camber? Or can a ball joint or bush still be failing.

Re: uneven tyre wear loose wheels nuts.. any ideas?
MOT only 2 months and 500 miles ago. Have been out tonight and placed a big bar under tyre and levered up and down there is a louder noise on the 6-12 movement (none 3-9). If the upper/lower b/j or upper bush had gone can you tell the play by hand or do you need to be more forceful? The nuts were lo...

uneven tyre wear loose wheels nuts.. any ideas?
I have a 1989 bluestar 1.6td power steering. The tyre wear over the last 500-600 miles has completely worn the nearside tyre with no tread visible. The inside and the off side tyre have minimal wear (all replaced 4500 miles ago). Driving along 100 miles and 5 miles ago the wheel nuts became loose. I...

Job done (at 9.20am) 3/8 socket that ran into the middle of the bush. Mounted the wishbone on a vice and then an old 12 inch 1/2 inch drive extension bar through the other bush. A 2 pound hammer and after a bit of jiggering and lots of finesse it came out... the satisfying noise of metal on the floo...

Thanks for that reply. Welds off and the bush cut off by a bout 2cm nearly down to the casing on the wishbone. I am having trouble working out how to get enough downward pressure to knock it out with a hammer as there is only 25cm of gap between the two bushes in the wish bone. Do you use a drift tr...

Well one oil change later using 15/40 quantum oil and a genuine filter and a 15 minute run noise gone.. yipee. I have never heard such a noise from an engine that wasn't terminal. The engine itself has only covered 40000 miles (installed by VAG... big bills) and has had a new vw exhaust on it 2 week...
