Re: TDI FLAT SPOT ??
2600 rpm is a very odd figure to hesitate at what gearbox you got are you certain its 2600 rpm what revs do you reach on the flat max torque on the 1z is at about 2000 rpm but they will rev freely to 4000 rpm but your symptoms sound like you have run out of revs, reached top speed, are you getting f...

Re: Roof Tents and Roof Racks
i know nothing about syncros or the best type of roof tent BUT i do deliver these roof tents to the local landy 4x4 group and i know they range from 68kg to 85kg
no idea what the roof capacity is on the T3 but worth thinking about the weight of the tent as well as its performance

Re: afn 1.9 t.d.i
when you turn it off and back on again the ecu 'reboots' so to speak so it starts clear of faults until the same situation occurs then it cuts power again you need to plug in vcds to check for faults most faults are caused by the maf, is that clean ? does it drive the same if you unplug the maf? is ...

Re: Subaru 2.2 16valve vs Audi 1.9TDi engine
if your 1.6td engine is really slow and struggling massively with moving your van then there are pretty much 3 reasons 1. your engine is dying 2. your engine is way out of tune and needs valves and timing checking properly 3. you are comparing it to your diesel car as long as your engine is not dead...

Re: 12v off-grid users - avoiding the amp eaters
I have two of these now and they've proved invaluable. They seem fairly close to my desktop meter at home within a fraction or two, cost under £6 and tell you all you need to know. You can add croc clips if that suits you better or put in circuit with say a solar setup to read what is actually goin...

Re: Solar on a tintop
My only remaining question is, how far could you actually get with battery not being charged by alternator (ie solar only) on a bright summers day before the battery gave out. with old vehicles you can get good distance out of them with no charging system at all as long as the battery is good, i on...
