renewed faith in dvla
not only have i now got an age related plate but after a lengthy conversation on the phone and many many pics and docs i now have a motor caravan instead of a panel van with windows,
so all good and big up dvla poole in dorset.....

Well just recieved a call from dvla and the age related docs are on there way,"and she is on a W plate
so getting the vw birth cert works a treat thanks guys.

recieved my vans birth certificate today born on the 7th of november 1980 so have spoken to dvla and the ball is rolling.
so hopefully will have an age related plate asap

have you tried the fuel filters (engine bay and the one by the fuel tank) they get dirty pretty fast especially if it has run low on fuel lately worth a look as there fairly cheap before doing the carb thing. if you are going to change the carbs DONT go for the single carb conversion BAD MOVE... i h...

no mate i have the registration docs which say first registered in uk in 1987
which clearly is wrong as i have a early Aircooled
i have contacted vw germany through vw birth certificate with the vin number and they seem to be helping

its the front cab doors up and down windows
top rubber has perished and i need to replace them both but mine has chrome inserts and want to know if they can be replaced with just the rubber ones

hi i have an 81 Aircooled with chrome window surrounds (not standard doors)
and want to put new window rubbers on but was wondering if i can put standard window rubber and not the chrome one on the top section of the sliding windows
and do away with the chrome?

the gap on the closed door are wider at the top than the bottom

i have bought a second hand set with linkage and need to work out where the linkage bolts down to and if im missing any bits

right i removed the starter motor, one bolt underneath van the other underneath the air box in engine bay. and took out the bush with a tap and a small ratchet and socket i just wound it in carefully checking in the mirror until the bush came out.then used the top starter bolt by winding the nut dow...

i think if i cant sort it i will just leave starter battery off (seems to be causing to many problems)
