That's the one. I'm removing the heater because it tried to kill us last week (electrical fire). Will it affect any other bits if i remove the steuergerat?

My imported westy has this device under the back seat labelled 'steuergerat', does anyone one know what it does?

its a 1989 westfalia poptop, imported from germany so a lot of the gizmos (electric and gas) are a bit different + labelled in german. Does the steuergerat control only the heating and therefor okay to remove? or is it more important than that? when we hooked the van up the circuit-breaker kept popp...

Thanks for the help, Ive got them to rotate now. The passenger side is good but the driver's side is a pain in the backside (handbrake and steering wheel get in the way). Both are very stiff, guess i'll need to have a look at the swivel device underneath.

Hi,
There is the usual runner handle underneath at the front, and a small ring-like handle below that which pulls out with a click (but doesn't seem to do anything) - am i looking in the right place?
