Tamara, try to get hold of either M0ki or Toomanytoys via PM who have been known to travel to help a fellow 80-90 user in their hour of need.

Re: cylinder head cracks?
A compression test will give you a basic indication of what pressure is being produced by each cylinder when the engine is turning over,,,,,,fine if there is a vast difference between each bank of cylinders. TBH, unless he can demonstrate his findings, he may just be trying to baffle you with bullsh...

Re: Cleaning your engine
Proper stuff to use is neat Jizer on all parts other than electrical stuff such as Dizzy ,,,,,simply brush on and hose off. You should be left with an Oil free engine and compartment with a hint of fresh engine aroma. Trouble is these days you can pay between 15 -25 quid for 5 litres depending on wh...

Re: Help : Rolling road tuning, reasonable distance of C London
I'd be trying to find someone local who can give your motor the basic once over if you are having running concerns, to be honest the only pieces of kit you should need for one of these vehicles is an exhaust gas analyser and a timing light.......

Re: Exhaust valve noise...
Dear Sir, at least you know what the problem is and you can sort it without having to rely on others to do the job for you. I supose you have been through all the possible reasons as to why this has happened so soon after a recent re build and would like to prevent it re occurring. Personally I'd be...

Simple answer is they are all the same and do exactly the same job.
PS, unless the cracks between the valves age gaping these are simply surface scars and nothing to worry about.

Shaun, you never know it might just be the shock of the van running in continental ambient temperatures, unlike here in Blighty where we are guaranteed to be running around 10 degrees colder than Europe at any time of the year,,,,,,. Go to any reputable body shop suppliers in your area and ask for a 'Mule Skinner', a mule skinner is a wire wheel coated in resin wh...
