Lads I'm flabbergasted once again by the power of the internet, and what happens when you ask the right question to the right people.
Really appreciate this information. Thanks to the original poster and the repost!

Re: cardboard wind baffles
so.... you guys reckon they have no effect on the cab noise / resonance?
few posts ive read seem to say otherwise, maybe some other OCD road noise types can chip in with some more opinions?
Either way id love to see some pics of a complete set in place, or laid out to see the original shapes..

cardboard wind baffles
Hi there, Just wondering where I could get measurements for the cardboard type wind deflectors / baffles that go around the front radiator. (Designed to cut down wind noise in the cab i think) Mine are falling apart (late T3 westy) and I think this is a major cause of the noise in the cab, would lik...

Re: leaky westy hightop roof
Pulled the two inner seals and plastic covers off the skylights at the weekend and everything seemed nice and dry up there, fiberglass all dry, wood not rotten, only a minor bit of rust on the screws.. Didn't disturb the outer seal as I assume if it was leaking up there the fiberglass and wood would...

Re: leaky westy hightop roof
I think the rust looks worse in the pics than it actually is, seems to be just surface rust (i hope) never can tell till you go grinding! Due to the "westy lean" the left of the van sits is a bit lower than the right and most of the water comes in that side. Hence more rust on the left I a...

leaky westy hightop roof
Help needed leak experts! Been parking the van (t25 california westy high top) on a slope nose pointed up hill, and noticed a bit of water leaking into the back and it's pooling on the boot lid.. Not coming from tailgate itself, coming from small gaps in roof seam just inside the tailgate on each si...

5 speed gearbox codes
Hi, Been on the lookout for a replacement 5 speed gearbox for my 89 westy for a while (1.6D JX engine).. (my own gearbox pops out of second) Anyhow I've been offered a replacement gearbox off a 5 speed diesel caravelle. Apparently the guy that's selling it has taken the bellhousing and spigot shaft ...

Re: westfalia high top bed
hi guys, thread resurrection! just went back attacking at this there the other day, I cut a board to size and took out the nasty shelves that the previous owner had fitted. Looks like they also replaced the original hinged flap that folds up to cover the bed rails with a bigger one.. You can see in ...
