Re: Loss Of Power and Juddering at Speed
Just wanted to thank everyone who pointed me towards the mesh fuel filter in the fuel pipe as a cause of fuel starvation. Had my garage clean this out and have had many judder free journeys from London to Grimsby, Manchester, Bath and Dorset since then. The van's a pleasure to drive again. The best ...

Re: Loss Of Power and Juddering at Speed
Thanks for the quick replies and good advice; even though I neglected to say in my original post what type of engine it was (1.9 petrol water cooled)! Advice sounds spot on and I did in fact have to have the fuel filter changed after the van stopped dead on the A21 last year. If it's blocking again ...

Loss Of Power and Juddering at Speed
I have an intermittent problem with my van that only materialises when driving over 60 almost always when going uphill or in strong head winds. The van seems to suffer a loss of power and juddering almost as if it's trying to stall, but never does. Dropping the speed back down to 50 gets it driving ...

Re: Mobile Mechanic to Fix Fuel Supply Problem?
Thanks for the replies. After being turned down by 2 local garages I was able to find one nearby that a friend could tow me to. Turned out to be crud in the fuel filter. Changed the fuel pump too while it was in there. Now running good as gold again. Good job the breakdown happened in Bromley as we'...

Mobile Mechanic to Fix Fuel Supply Problem?
Hi My 1.9 Petrol Watercooled camper broke down in Bromley at the weekend. The van started shuddering under acceleration and eventually died, then wouldn't start again. I had to get towed back to East Dulwich (SE22) where I live, but the garage I dropped it outside of is refusing to touch camper vans...

Re: re-spray help!
Not sure where you are in London, but I recently used a great body shop in Walworth/Camberwell South East London to sort out a huge gash in the side of my van caused by an argument with a skip. They were very reasonable, and friendly too. Details are: Adair Auto Services Railway Arches, Unit 306-307...

Re: Wanted - Recommendations for Calor Gas Leak Fix
Hi, I was informed, by them that know, that soapy water is corrosive so should not be used. I am not far away from you, Sevenoaks/Tonbridge and have pipe cutter, bending tool and leak detection fluid and some knowledge at your disposal. So if you fancy a drive down here---------- Don Thought I had ...

Thanks for the replies.
My next question is... How do you get old olives off the pipe. The old one won't budge. Do you have to take a hack saw to it?

Wanted - Recommendations for Calor Gas Leak Fix
My van has developed a gas leak which I've failed to track down and repair. There's only a T junction taking gas to the gas rings and the fridge and a separate cut off valve for the fridge which is attached to the fridge pipe with a compression joint. I've tried loosening off all the joints and reti...

Thanks for the detail Mocki.
I'll get a mechanic to change the bush and pass on your notes regarding earthing and timing issues.

Re: Hot starting
I've just developed exactly the same problem after having a new clutch fitted. Works fine most of the time, but randomly fails to turn over the starter motor when hot, just a click from the ignition. Other times the starter motor turns sluggishly at first but then picks up. £1.50 for a new bush soun...

Electric Hookup
Just returned from a great 2 weeks in France with my other half and 2 kids. First time on a long trip in the van and we thoroughly enjoyed it. I have an electrical question which I hope someone can advise on. My van hasn't got a Zig unit, but the hookup goes through what looks like a domestic fuse b...
