Hello there
Has anyone changed their original Autosleeper bed for a rock'n'roll one? Can you get one that fits in the existing space (I have an inbuilt gas heater in front of mine) without major changes to the cupboards and side fittings? Thanks

Re: Insurance
Sorry about the late response. I told them in my initial application it is an Autosleeper.

Yes that's the one. I'd forgotten what it was called.

Fridge vent upgrade
I have a 1990 Autosleeper with a metal vent on the side and I am considering a plastic one with winter cover. Is there an advantage with regard to increased warmth, decreased rain and water ingress and is it likely to fit into the same aperture. The sizing looks very similar between the two. Many th...

Re: Insurance
They asked me about modifications. I have had LPG, PAS and lowered suspension all of which were accepted. I would like to put on non standard alloys further down the line but have yet to broach this with them.

Admiral indeed. They have an agreed value procedure as part of the policy. I'm not putting the van on until March 2013 because it still has insurance to run on the exisiting policy. I'll let the forum know how I fair in this.

Re: 185 vs 205?
Stability in high winds on the motorway is much improved with 205s. Make sure you get c rated otherwise the walls flex too much round corners.

Insurance
I just renewed my insurance with Admiral multicar and am paying half the previous year's premium on the van and less on the car too. There was a bit of a hitch when they asked me about modifications to the van which include power steering and LPG. The upshot was that the PAS was put down as 'suspens...

Split charger
I have a leisure battery in my Autosleeper Trident 1990 which is charged while the engine is running and when hooked up to 240 v. Has anyone put in a split charger to charge up the vehicle battery when hooked up to 240v?
thanks

automatic 2.1 occasionally not starting
Sometimes won't restart when on a long run having stopped for fuel or comfort break. It's as if the gear is in drive. There is power but the starter motor doesn't engage. Eventually it starts usually after the breakdown people have been called out! Happens once every few hundred miles. Have you had ...

electric mirror switch - which one?
Hello there I wonder if anyone out there can help with this? I have had electric mirrors fitted to my van with a Nissan switch (they only work laterally, but I think this may be a wiring issue). I'd like to get a VW T3 switch, ideally original, but quite hard to find. Will a switch work (and fit int...

Re: where can I get new front seats
Many thanks. They look amazing. My ideal outcome is to get new seats, although I would be more than happy if mine looked like yours! In the meantime if anyone has managed to get hold of new replacements, do let me know. I am starting to reconsider the Saab seat option. Are there issues of space betw...

Re: Wheel Alignment in London?
I've just had 30mm springs fitted and my garage said to have the wheels aligned after 50 miles or so when they were bedded in a little. They took it to Wembley Tyres Ltd NW10 1DG and the print out includes a pictorial description of before and after and it looks like it has been measured against the...
