Had an intermittent cutting out so I rebuilt the Solex carbs. New electric fuel pump and regulator and filter New plugs leads dizzy cap. New electric distributo...

There is also an opinion that you don't connect them and let the rad switch control the fan as per original.

Re: Heading down the Subaru route
Hi I'm yet to drive a Subaru t25 BUT... I'm well on the way on my conversion. I got all the bits from RJES who has been very supportive and his work and knowledge is great. I bought my neighbors Auto legacy Sohc 2.5. Which had busted the gearbox at 100k. RJES supplied all I needed to change to fit t...

Re: air cooled and water cooled comparisons
I have a 2 litre Cu Aircooled 3 speed Auto Karmann Gipsy. I've had the engine rebuilt by Richard Morena who built it perfectly. It's now a 2.1 running on its original rebuilt Solex Carbs. It's motors along very nicely. Always starts first time and will happily cruise at 55 pulling the 2.5 ton gipsy ...

Re: what other vw has my automatic gearbox ?
Cogbox did my auto box rebuild. He also fitted a new Peloquin Torque Biased Diff from GoWesty. Pretty pleased with the job. As far as I know he sends parts of it abroad for calibration. It's lovely and smooth reckon it will do another 34 years.

Re: cu engine cooling flaps
I've binned the stat and the flap. The flap is there for helping the engine to warm up it's closed until warm then it's open. To be honest it doesn't get driven in the winter anyway so I can't say if the warm up takes longer.

Fuel tank diesel to petrol
Hi all. I'm I'm the process of a JX to subaru conversion and I have removed all of the back end parts for refurb including my tank. I understand that I do not need to change my tank to fit the RJES parts I have but wondered if anyone needed a diesel tank as it seems most conversions are to TDi and I...

Re: 2.0 AC speed?
Hi
I'm a 3 speed automatic 2.1 (after a rebuild) with a CSP python exhaust running standard carbs and ignition and tyres.
Powering my very heavy Karmann Gipsy to cruise at 56mph and 22mpg. Will do about 65mph.

I had the same issue so I stitched on a black leather cover. It looks great and feels really nice. Was quite tricky as I'm a novice stitcher but very happy with it. Been on there a couple of years.

Re: which video camera??
Go Pro 3 black. The pictures from both video and stills are amazing. Use 16gb cards as any bigger crashes the camera. And the batteries don't last long so get some extras and a wall charger. They are expensive though once you've bought all the bits but they do hold their value. The camera has 3 angl...
