Re: Newbie question. Seam sealant?

a thin blade craft knife/scalpel/craft knife once the sealer is out and the blade is dull it can scrape deep into the seam, you will feel each spot weld so rub up and down each section between them - where the rust widens out of the seam target it with a dremmel - the wire wheels dont last long but ...

Re: high roof bed

I have fitted two thin cupboards down either side of the high top so can attach to the top front corners of these - but if you have no way of getting a top fixing its going to be difficult. with some strong fixings on the sides "under" the opening you could I suppose fit a cargo net to cat...

Re: high roof bed

I am currently looking at exactly the same issue... in my case I am planning on fitting 4 d ring lugs or eye bolts in each corner the opening and using some cargo net & small caribiner clips to net the little monkey in.... as a bonus when travelling with all the bedding up there the cargo net wi...

Re: TDI Brake Pedal Signal

Sorry Andy, the clutch sensor isn't connected to the relay... As things stand now the clutch sensor &brake sensor are both directly connected to the signal ground. This should give me 0,0,0 in the measurement blocks, and 0,0,1 when the brake pedal depressed. 0,0,0, should mean my throttle gets l...

Re: TDI Brake Pedal Signal

Thanks Andy/Elvis I dont really think there is anything wrong with the wiring or the relay, it all checks out fine To clarify where I am... verified that the relay is correctly wired verified that the relay operates properly (bench test) verified that the relay operates properly (back probed) verifi...

Re: TDI Brake Pedal Signal

Thanks Andy, So in terms of faultfinding the ground cable what should its voltage be relative to the neg battery terminal. I'm getting over 5 volts when the ecu is on. Which intuitively seems high for a ground voltage. I presume it is the f47 connection to a sender earth of 5v+ means the ecu sees it...

Re: TDI Brake Pedal Signal

Bit of an update... took a while but I eventually tracked down the yellow/white wire for the brake switch to an anonymous relay in the engine compartment. Looks like both this wire and the red/white of the clutch sensor are disconnected from the blue/brown sensor ground wire when the relay sees 12v ...

Re: Space in a t25 Hannover bluestar

IMO the multivan bluestar interior makes a great versatile base. I've used it as a 7 seat bus on many occasions, filled it from floor to ceiling with tree debris for tip runs and am (one day!)going to make a demountable kitchen unit based on the SMEV 8821 that will clip into the jump seat mounts.

TDI Brake Pedal Signal

Thought I should perhaps start a new thread as I seem to have a specific problem to solve. van starts - ignores accelerator pedal - idles at around 1200 rpm - glowplug light starts flashing after 20 or so seconds VCDS of group 6 block 2 shows brake sensor stuck on? and curiously, each time the brake...

Re: VAGCOM ?

I'm new to vagcom with a £5 ebay lead & vcds lite. Good online info. Had problems with drivers & com ports on two win8 64bit PC's but pretty straightforward getting things working on a win7 netbook.

Re: 1z tdi - power loss - fast idle - limp home?

back home from hols now and have connected up with VAG com lite to read off the codes, the throttle pot has an implausable signal intermittent code against it, however checking the value reaching the ecu from the measurment blocks it smoothly transitions from 0-100% as the pedal is depressed, pointi...

Re: 1z tdi - power loss - fast idle - limp home?

Thanks chaps. Really helpful confirmation. suspected this or something related to air intake sensor but didn't want to bias the replies. Throttle pot is in the engine bay. Unplugged and replugged on the roadside but didn't try disconnecting the battery. Revs start to shoot v high (3k ish) for a frac...

1z tdi - power loss - fast idle - limp home?

WHY DO THEY FAIL AT THE START OF YOUR HOLIBOBS??!??. 20 Mins from home and the van died. Flashing glowplug light and total loss of power. Van limped very slowly clear of the dual carriageway. Will restart. Idles fast (1200 ish)and won't rev/no power. Glowplug light starts flashing again after 20 or ...
