aaz manifold removal advice needed

Morning all. I think my AAZ engine is blowing from the inlet manifold (I think its still got the JX manifold on). From what I can see using a mirror am I right in thinking its the hex key bolts that hold this on? Also looks as though one has dropped out. Any advice regarding removing, what size hex ...

Re: Intermittent Starting Problem AAZ

Thanks all. That's what I'm thinking. Just another job to add to the list. Might have to wait until the summer season is over. Want to be out in it as much as I can this year :)

Re: Intermittent Starting Problem AAZ

If I jumper the solenoid from the +ve terminal it starts every time which is ok when the boot is empty but when its full of camping equipment its a bit of a nightmare. I'm gonna have a go and wire up a push button start to the dash as a temporary fix to see if that works for now.

Intermittent Starting Problem AAZ

Didn't know if this would come under mechanical or electrical so admin please move if required. Had this problem a while and slowing going through replacing things to see if I can fix it. 1983 1.6TD JX to 1.9TD AAZ. Starter motor advice needed

Please bear with me if I don't use the correct terminology. 1983 AAZ conversion. 5 speed dogleg. I went to start my van yesterday and all I got was a click from the solenoid. Got the starter off today and if I connect a jump cable to the pin by the exciter wire on the solenoid the drive gear springs...

Starting problem

I've got a problem starting. More often than not when I turn the key nothing happens. Sometimes I get a click but have been having to hot wire it by touching a cable from the +ve terminal on the battery to the starter itself and it turns over fine and starts. I've replaced the ignition switch but th...

fuel hose size JX to AAZ conversion

Morning all
My diesel keeps syphoning back to the filter. The hose from the filter to the pump is old and brittle (clear plastic type) and barely reaches from the filter to the pump as has been trimmed before to remove a leaking end. Just wondering what size hose I need to order.
TIA

New loom

Morning all. I've had an auto electrician out to my bus as have had a few electrical issues. He managed to sort out some of the problems but said I could do with a total rewire and that a new loom is available off the shelf and that the split and bay looms are the same??? Mines an '83 which has had ...

AAZ alternator belt??

The belt that runs around the water pump and alternator has just snapped on me and I'm not sure what/where to get a replacement or even know what it is I'm meant to ask for. It's not a V belt type and it doesn't have aircon. Any advice gratefully received. Many thanks in advance

Re: Big problems

Don't worry, I am intended to fix the problem at the same time. The direct feed and relays to the lights is just an upgrade to the setup. I'm probably gonna end up rewiring the whole front end while I'm on that way I know its gonna last :)

Re: Big problems

Thanks ghost for the reply. The fuse to the heater only blows when its on speed three. It runs all day on 1 and 2 no problems so am thinking its more likely an electrical fault rather than seized, does that sound about right? I've got all the wipers indicators etc working its now. A split positive c...

Sorry, I'm a bit of a novice, could you explain how I do this. I do have a voltage meter but thats as far as it goes  Make sure the ...
