Re: could this cause the smoke

Just a bit of an update to the smoke problem I have. Took it in to the works mechanics today and they said the turbo is ok which is good news however they told me the smoke was caused by burning oil. How much do you think it would cost to get the piston rings replaced? Anybody got any more advice? C...

Re: EGR valve blanking

Thanks for the reply Ewen Oil leak looks like its from the turbo oil return line so not too much of an issue to replace at some point as to the smoke I've had a better look at whats been going on. The new air filter arrived today so decided to remove the housing to inspect the air hoses etc and this...

EGR valve blanking

As I've mentioned before in my previous post, my engine is very smokey (its a 1.6 TD JX). Waiting for BW to deliver my replacement air filter but after reading a few websites they mention that blanking the EGR valve might help to reduce the smoke. Anybody done this themselves? Blanking plate is only...

Re: Battery

he said something about one wire going from the battery to something that would sit further down under my seat so as not so many wires direct to the battery! Think he might have meant something along these line. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/8-WAY-STANDARD-BLADE-FUSE-BOX-WATERPROOF-COVER-12V-/270692338905?...

Re: material for interior- door cards etc

Depending on what sort of stuff/look you are after try dunelm mill, they have loads of different fabrics/materials to choose from. I'm using leatherette for my door cards etc at £6.99 per metre (137cm wide). Its good quality thick stuff and give a luxurious look. They have an online store but in sto...

I know its possible to get a T25 front bench seat but cant find one in good enough condition. There are quite a few T4 bench seats on the bay of fleas but not sure if they would go in or h...

Re: could this cause the smoke

Cheers for the info Ewan. Not really sure where to begin with the turbo so I've had a word with one of our ambulance mechanics and he's kindly told me to bring it into the depot and he's gonna get it up on the ramps for me so thats where I'm off to in the morning. He said if he cant sort it he knows...

could this cause the smoke

Got the bus up in the air today and had a proper look at the underside. I was extremely pleased to find out how solid she is and only found a small amount of welding needed. Everything else looks as it should be apart from the turbo. Turbo was replaced 2 years ago before I brought her. http://i1134....

Things to check when in the air

I've got a couple hours use of a friend of a friends lift on saturday. First time I've had to have a proper look at the underside and am wondering what I should be looking out for. Will be going around prodding her with a screwdriver to see what welding needs doing. She's got an underslung water tan...
