I did this when I first got my Westy. The original tank was really rusty and did not look safe (even though it was) I used a new propane grill double hose and regulator from Walmart and a 1/4" Male Pipe Thread X 1"-20 female brass fitting. You may be able to get something similar locally? 

You can notch the sliding door switch to keep the lights off while door is open.
Just push it in.

I made mine with help from a friend with sewing skills. I used double the material as to block out the sun and eliminate that shadow puppet affect of the originals.
