Re: Westy stove gas connection

I did this when I first got my Westy. The original tank was really rusty and did not look safe (even though it was) I used a new propane grill double hose and regulator from Walmart and a 1/4" Male Pipe Thread X 1"-20 female brass fitting. You may be able to get something similar locally?

Re: Sliding door switch & interior lighting?

You can notch the sliding door switch to keep the lights off while door is open.
Just push it in.

Re: Leisure battery condition indicator

https://www.thesamba.com/vw/gallery/pix/1287845.jpg This one is connected to my Aux fuse panel. The other one I have is on the Charge Controller for the solar. They can be quite different in readings though, I would imagine that there is some loss of voltage going to the pictured one. Other than vo...

Link to the igniter I purchased. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00BTL7P5M/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Thanks for the links Timwhy... one question - in upgrading to the electronic ignition module, can the original cable...

Re: Fridge flame status indicator - a little electronics projec

Electronic igniter would be a good upgrade as it could then be set up to refire automatically if the flame blew out (which I think the later models did anyway). Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk Exactly! Here's a link to my fridge firing up using the blue LED switch to show when it's lit. https:...

Re: Fridge flame status indicator - a little electronics projec

Nice work! My indicator lamp never worked and I recently swapped out the LED control board from Go Westy. That solved the problem but I also upgraded my igniter to an electronic one that allows you to add an LED to show that the igniter is firing and stays lit once the flame is going. Not my mod but...

Re: Pop top not closing properly

When you say retro fitted does this mean new hardware to replace old? I had a similar situation with my pop top not closing correctly after I replaced the bolts of the pop top to hinge with SS ones. They were just a little bit longer than the originals and that made the top bow out and not close flu...

Re: Making New Curtains

I made mine with help from a friend with sewing skills. I used double the material as to block out the sun and eliminate that shadow puppet affect of the originals. The back side of the curtains is black. http://images.thesamba.com/vw/gallery/pix/641928.jpg http://images.thesamba.com/vw/gallery/pix/...

Re: How to............. Extra spot/driving light wiring.

Cheers for replies. Anyone got pic of the wires Neil is talking about? Do you think I should run a fused wire direct from battery for feed? :ok Under the steering column is where I picked up the wires from the H/L stalk to tap into for my relays. http://images.thesamba.com/vw/gallery/pix/1598847.jp...

Re: Any tall folks made driving more comfortable?

In my Westy I replaced the seats with two from my Tin Top. They are taller and wider than the Westy seats and much more comfortable. Also gained some room by swapping the big steering wheel for a smaller Jetta wheel, gained much needed knee room. Lastly added the stick shift extender, so no reaching...
