Re: Oil in Air Filter
Over filling with oil, I would think, produce oil in the airbox. The breather tower collects/traps oil vapour and allows it to drip back into the engine, is this working OK. I am aware that it has been over filled with oil at some point before I owned it. and recently the dipstick can undone, so I ...

Re: Oil in Air Filter
kevtherev I apologise if I came off rude, I was just surprised.
I thought my initial was enough, but obviously I didn't.
Thank you for your patience.
I will try to get the cylinder pressure check done.

Re: Oil in Air Filter
I am getting about an inch of oil in the air box and filter in about 2 months normal? It cant be good for the engine to have oil going from air filter to the carb and engine block etc.. One friend says I need to re-bore and re-ring the engine or replace the engine outright, hence my surprise with yo...

Oil in Air Filter
Hi guys n gals
T25 1.9 DG engine. 1986
We have isolated it to be oil coming from the Breather Housing and Breather Hose. There was more of a push than a suction from the hose with some oil vapour.
what can I do to repair this?
Cheers

Re: T25 5 Speed Gearbox
hence my desire to change ONE thing. I have crap fuel economy at 70. having a vehicle that can handle the speed better (= a faster van) 90% has better fuel economy at ordinary speed than it did before. I never said i wanted BOTH. What I asked for was help figuring out which route was the best method...

Re: T25 5 Speed Gearbox
Well.. a very popular solution would be a scubby conversion....all the modified parts that enable the conversion are now readily available from RJES? components. Basically more power with better fuel consumption. Look in the engine mod section. Martin Having looked at RJES, that is a really expensi...

T25 5 Speed Gearbox
Hey guys I am considering replacing my 4 speed for a 5 speed. But first I have some (probably stupid) questions. I see more 5 Speed Diesel gearbox's, I have a Watercooled 1.9 petrol. I am guessing it would not take a diesel box? Is it relatively easy to swap them, or do I really need a mechanic? Wil...

If I include the cost of the Solar Panels on the roof, then maybe another year.

Re: I wonder.. Hybrid petrol(lrp) - electric
Nothings simple. The idea of brake failure resulting from this type of install would put me off for sure. I think solar cells will be on the high price side also. The payback time would be significant. I think this mod would be done because you can rather than to save money. The Solar is going in a...

Re: I wonder.. Hybrid petrol(lrp) - electric
Wow! regen braking is messy. No simple plug it in and away you go..
I am not sure I fancy messing with the braking controls like that. not unless you can find a dongle that will do the braking switching between normal and regen motors.

Re: I wonder.. Hybrid petrol(lrp) - electric
I haven't read the link yet (hopefully tonight), but I would have thought that you could just use them to generate power direct to a battery, no complicated computery stuff, just another way to gain power for the DC motor.
Kick me If I'm wrong on that, I will too after I read up on them.

Re: I wonder.. Hybrid petrol(lrp) - electric
Found a really useful suggestion: DC motor connected using a band to the engine like a supercharger. It's the easiest way to add the motors power, apparently. The biggest difficulty is when you drop the clutch, as the motor is still connected. but a simple switch on the back of the clutch pedal shou...
