Update on my starting woes. Replaced the coil, dizzy cap and rotor arm, and bingo! Thanks to all who chipped in, in particular Smiffo who nailed it in this case.
MOT this weekend I hope.

Re: WBX won't fire
Am getting spark, yes, but now think possibly too weak for combustion. Will replace coil and try again.

Re: WBX won't fire
That sounds very plausible, Smiffo. Thank you for the heads up. Think I'll replace the coil anyway. I have a rally prepared mini, and that has a spare built in next to the coil in use. Good call, I will report back in due course. Cheers.

Re: WBX won't fire
Filter is only a year old (as is petrol in tank) and it's only driven a couple of hundred miles, so I assume it's ok. Will check. Didn't drive it any distance, just manoeuvring around my yard. Seemed to be running satisfactorily and normally. What baffles me is that it won't fire on the old drop of ...

WBX won't fire
Can anyone suggest what this might be, please. Petrol WBX, auto gearbox, 1985, 100k miles. In reasonable condition. Stood unused for 9 months, last week got it out, washed it, did the dash out for new blower fan job. All back, working well. Quite pleased with myself. Moved the van around on the driv...

Re: Blower pwm upgrade
I am not convinced this is a worthy upgrade. I think the fact that Bw's don't offer them tells you something. I'm reluctant to install one of these units in spite of it looking like a good upgrade from a user point of view, but wanted to seek recommendations. Unfortunately the price of the resistor ...

Blower pwm upgrade
I've got my dash out at the mo, so am going to fix the blower motor and like the idea of the pwm upgrade. But I can't find much about it, and Bw's, CVC and JK don't seem to offer them. Some of the reviews of the units on Amazon report early failure of the electronics, so I wonder if this is as good ...

Re: Auto gearbox output shaft bearings and oil seals
Thanks Rob, looks like a useful lead. I've started doing the job myself, removing the output drive flanges from the transaxle, but one side is so tight I'm afraid the Allen key will slip inside the head. The other side was a doddle. But life just ain't always easy, is it. I shall contact them for ad...

Auto gearbox output shaft bearings and oil seals
Can anyone on here offer advice re an auto gearbox, please? The oil seals on the box casing are weeping, but there is play in the shaft coming out of the casing. Not the end float, I mean across the diameter of the flange where the CV of the shaft attaches. I assume there's a bearing in the casing, ...

Re: Brake pipe retaining clips on underside of floor
Yes, thank you. Must have missed them in my search. Originals are white, maybe that fooled me. Many thanks.

Brake pipe retaining clips on underside of floor
Does anyone know if the plastic retaining clips that hold the brake pipe running N-S on the underside of the floor (and above the fuel tank) are available anywhere? I've looked at Brickwerks and Schofield but they are not listed.

Sliding door bearings
Some may have seen my post on Facebook ('VW T25 Club' - I'm Jeff Lawlor on there) regarding the guide roller bearings on the sliding door mechanism, with some pics. I've replaced the bearings and find one of the two has rather a lot of end float, which I suspect is not as intended. The spigot it loc...

Re: Rejuvenating an old flat battery...with urine???
As I suspected, thank you for your reply. It's showing 4.6V before any charging attempts, so as you say, finito.

Rejuvenating an old flat battery...with urine???
I have a battery that has been flat for a number of years - 5 or 6. I've been told it's possible to rejuvenate it by putting it on a trickle charge and being patient, leave on charge for possibly as much as 2 or 3 days. The advice was check the electrolyte level, and if low, add urine. Anyone heard ...
